I agree, and now that I think about it, has anyone ever written a Dark!Gai fic? That would be awesome.

As for the Hiraishin hope... not likely, but I wouldn't be surprised if Kishimoto suddenly forgot how his own technique works and made it Hiraishin.

First, as Howdy pointed out there would be no momentum after Hiraishin. We've seen the speed increases he got from the Kyuubi's chakra before. We've also seen the exponential speed increase he got from sage mode.
It could just be pure speed based his Kyuubi-chakra-Rikudo-sennin mega cloak which would make sense.

The kunai aren't necessary but at least some seal-marker is from my understanding. The seal is a chakra beacon with the Yondaime's chakra that allows for the reverse summoning (supposedly it allows him to use the Hiraishin without chakra cost as well :-O). He could place the seal anywhere with a touch but he still needed it for the technique.

Remeber though that he was one of the fastest shinobi period even without Hiraishin (which isn't speed, its instant).

Kisame even said 'what amazing speed' after Naruto hit him- it was likely shunshin.

 

It wasn't. It was something man. Maybe cooler man? Better man? Maybe even badass in Japanese, I'm not sure, but nothing from English language because it wasn't written in katakana.

 

I thought the chapter was good. I do think it was a bit much to give Naruto those extra sensor abilities. Pretty much nobody can hide from him now because he can literally feel their presence, not just their chakra. But meh.

I'm sort of wondering whether or not the feats shown in his mind were just advantages his mindscape granted him, or things he's actually capable of. I'm leaning towards the former, but it'll be interesting to find out.

I'd give the chapter an 8/10 overall. It would have been a 7/10, but seeing Gai boulder smash Kisamehada made the whole chapter that much better for me.

 

You guys were actually bitching about Naruto's increase in power? You all are far gayer than I originally assumed. And there's very little 'likely' to it - it was shunshin.

I'm a little disappointed at the way Kishimoto decided to write Bee and Naruto out of this fight, but I suppose if he wants Gai to get a chance to shine or Kisame to survive, he had to do it some way.

Honestly I'm not sure what the significance of getting that info to Madara is. The only really relevant bit is that Naruto now has control of the Kyuubi, but I just can't imagine Madara getting jumped by a surprise attack to begin with, so I'm not too sure how it's vital information.

Naruto has God-Mode now, but it comes with a weakness: fragile ankles. Beware, Naruto, lest you get a tummy-ache. They're known to be an ancient ninja illness.

Well, I'm assuming that the scroll has all the info on the war plans that Kisame was sitting in on when Bee was participating in the meetings. Things like numbers, deployments, who's going to be where and such. And I'm sure Madara's interested in Naruto's location and also the fact that Naruto's finally gotten control of the Kyuubi's chakra, irrespective of whether Naruto can get the jump on him or not (he can't, agree with you there).

On the chapter, I wasn't particularly excited by it. Also, the Gai-Kisame fight seems to be on fast-forward considering how drawn out fights in Naruto have generally been. In second or third page we have Gai trying his whirlwind kick and by the end of the chapter they've already brought out their 'wtfpwn!!' attacks. I don't mind it though, seeing as its the third time they're meeting.

So Gai's got the Morning Peacock at six gates and now Afternoon Tiger on seven. Considering that Gai's summon is a turtle, will there be a suicide eight-gates level technique called the Night Dragon or something? They are the four cardinal beasts for each direction, I think - Dragon, Turtle, TIger and Peacock.

 

If the final villain is the moon does that mean that Naruto is Link?

 

Morning Peacock, finally! Looked pretty epic. Touhou~! But with seven gates open, if Gai's attack connects, no way Kisame can win.

Are the properties of the controlled Kyuubi chakra different than the originals besides the obvious 'cleansing'? Otherwise what was stopping Naruto from healing his ankle wound with some of his Rikudou chakra?

The fight with Gai and Kisameheda reminded me of DBZ, not exactly a plus, but it was pretty cool so I didn't mind much. I don't hate it like a few of the users above me, but it isn't what I was hoping for.
