What if Remus imprinted on Harry in The Prisoner of Azkaban?

I can't believe I just wrote that.

 

I can. You are female after all, and therefore bound to think of Twilight and werewolf abs.

 

You'd have an awesome angst fic that ends with Harry being executed by the Ministry/ commiting suicide?

 

Considering DLP, it'd be either that or Harry finally gets his ass in gear and suddenly starts being a better student than Hermione, getting O:s in all classes that matter, gaining the ability to transform whenever he likes (possibly without going nuts) and deciding to kick ass... Possibly written well, to boot.

 

If I remember correctly, the imprinting in Twilight was a wholly platonic thing until the victims were of baby-making age.

Since Harry doesn't have a babyfactory, this'd result in Remus being obsessively protective of Harry, and fulfilling the roles of family, mentor, teacher, all that jazz. Stuff a kid needs to grow up big and strong without broccoli, and stuff a kid needs to become a hero.

An obsessive guardian werewolf might actually make a decent fic, if not a great one.

No buttseckz.

I think I've seen a few takes on that idea over the years, but none captured my interest.

 

Wasn't it just adult age without baby-making? I saw only first movie, so my knowledge about Twilight is what my friend who read all books told me.

By the way, it reminded me of this stupid ending of Twilight books where (spoiler if someone plans to read them):

Jacob imprints himself on Bella's daughter (as probably consolidation prize, because he didn't get mother) who isn't even one year old, but she's half vampire and because of that she grows few times faster, so he will not need to wait too much before he can do her.

And so this is not just massive off topic one plot bunny from me.

I've stolen this idea from other fic I once read (it was BtVS), but it's interesting take on crazy magical person. What if Harry begins to see magic different that normal wizard. For him magic is not just light show, but he see them as much crazier things. For instance:
- Accio is a dog who fetch things for wizard,
- Avada Kedavra is Grim Reaper trying to behead person with scythe,
- when he is using Legilimency, he see projector coming from person's head and his memories are project on wall behind them,
- Levicorpus is big balloon attached to person leg,
- Veela's allure is mini cupids shooting arrows at men.
And so on.

 

I'm not sure how well it'd translate anything but a parody or crackfic, but something about this idea makes me :awesome

 

Funny thing, fic where I saw this wasn't crackfic and it showed how messed up was mind of main character. So in hands of a good writer, it could be whatever he wants, not only parody.

 

It still makes me shudder.

The only way anything Twilight ought to ever be associated with an HP fic is if the author has Harry travel to wherever the fuck the Twilight people live and kill them with fire. Scratch that - kill them with Fiendfyre. One chapter, two tops, end of story.

 

Fiendfyre and the Avada Kedavra curse. Repeatedly.

 

It's called the Killing Curse. You don't see people saying, "Use the Accio charm," or "Get him with the Stupefy spell," or even "Did you hit Cormac with a Confundo charm?"

 

I don't know if this idea was proposed already but it seems pretty interesting. A story where Dumbledore becomes Minister and Tom Riddle is the the Headmaster of Hogwarts. With Dumbledore trying to interfere in the running of Hogwarts, like Fudge in book five. Could be a cool one-shot.

 

I think I've read a story with that premise, but it wasn't any good so I ditched it a couple of chapters in. Still, I'd love to see that done well, especially since pre-Voldemort Riddle is one of the more interesting characters in the series (I have a slight liking for sociopathic characters, hence my reading of the Dexter novels at the moment).

 

It's not entirely what you suggest, but try Zennith's The Other Side of the Coin. Tom Riddle as headmaster, and Dumbledore not exactly satisfied with the situation.

 

That's the story that mostly made me think of that scenario, but without Harry mixed in
