I'd give this fic a try, slash or not, but author's profile effectively scared me away. Submissive gay Harry with possible elements of BDSM? That's way too much for me.

I had not seen this

Not all the way through yet, but good stuff guys, it made me smile.

 

This was surprisingly good, there are only a few things in it that I don't like, the HP/LV slash (which is pretty tame but still weird and you can skip it as it has almost no bearing on the actualy plot) and the Dumbledore bashing.

The way that Harry ends up seriously dark is pretty good and

If it wasn't for the slash I would recommend it, but everything else is right up DLP's alley. Plus it's complete and a reasonable length. There's apparently a sequel coming in about 6 months.

 

Frank, I'm still waiting for you to write an Aunt's Love part 2.

A nice start to a story that could be easily library worthy with a few chapters, depending on where the author goes with it. It started out with what appeared to be a rather generic Daphne, but my interests piqued tenfold after the second chapter.

It's also complete and clocks in at 170k words. Author said he/she'll be posting 1 chapter a week.

 

Oh god, the author is bwlfox. I remember that guy, had some extremely... questionable shit to say if I recall correctly. He got banned for something or other.

Shouldn't effect the story quality however, will take a look at it.

 

It's alright. The next chapter or two will probably determine what I think of the story. The author's Daphne really pisses me off. It's like the author couldn't decide if he wanted Daphne to be an ice queen or a battered!Slytherin. It's kind of annoying.

Well, chapter 3 pushed it over the edge, making it pretty much unreadable. Magical instruments are never a good sign, but this fic has to take the cake on that. The characters seem to be able to play perfectly on the first try (why did Draco even practice the piano for 6 years?) and Harry is even able to make perfect instruments on the first try. Why? Magic?
The 'action' scenes seem more like reports than anything else and the fic made me at multiple points call out "Why is this happening? Why do they do this? This doesn't make any sense!"

 

Indeed. Chapter 3 made me stop reading.

 

We should just make a forum for almost recommended that anyone can create threads in. Would make searching for decent fics a lot easier imo than having 3 threads worth..

 

I haven't read chapter three yet, but wasn't it somewhat implied that everyone could play Harry's instruments because of all the runes and magical ingredients Harry used?
