Ooh, Aizen is so inhumane now. Since he became a 'monster', the heroes are free to kill him for good. Shame on him, he should know that transformation never helps.

I loved how Ichigo was drawn on the last page, his face.

As always, even being scared and almost killed was part of Aizen's plan.

Next week - Ichigo versus Aizen. Does it mean that the end (of Bleach) is nigh?

 

I could honestly see the manga end in 30 chapters or so. Unless Aizen transforms further and Kubo brings forth the Zero Squad for another epic battle, this 'Winter War' really feels like the finale to me.

 

Aizen is like Raditz. We have a long way to go.

Has Kubo informed us about the Spirit King or whatever, yet?

 

Well, it's definitely looks like beginning of the end with Aizen in his ultimate (probably) form and Ichigo returning after training to fight him. But there are so many things that we didn't see, like a bankai of the most of the captains/ex-captains (and why they didn't use it against Aizen will remain mystery).

Unless Kubo plans to reveal even bigger bad guy than Aizen, he needs to let him win this fight and take position as new Spirit King. Which would be pretty cool and untypical because good guys would basically lost a battle that lasted more than a year. Then for whatever reason, we could have fight captains versus 0 Division with use of a bankai.

 

I do not think that Bleach will end, even if Ichigo kills Aizen in the upcoming battle.

Personally, I think something like Div 0 + King will look at Soul Society, and decide that if they can produce assholes like Aizen, they don't deserve to live and proceed to try and blank slate Soul Society. Cue war between Div 0 and Gotei 13 remnants.

This would have some nice irony and throwback to the Quincy extermination, and give Kubo a nice avenue to continue to write manga for the next 5 years so he can roll around in piles of money.

 

Ichigo will surely have to use his second trip to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber in order to defeat the Spirit King. :awesome

I was kind of hoping that Kubo would pull out something new and interesting for this chapter. Gin being victorious or something. Aizen feels too overpowered, and he seems to pull shit out of his ass like there's a sharingan in there.

 

Then, if - and this is a big if - there Aizen has some Vasto Lorde's sitting around as a contingency plan, the captains are gonna have a smackdown on their hands. The issue of the highest level of Hollow has yet to be addressed still.

A kind of theme with comic books is to have a great hero you must have an even greater villain, Unfortunatley Bleach has taken this to such an extreme I feel like I am reading through some sort of sports manga where there a battle then a training arc where everyone proceeds to level up and another battle which all turns ouut to be for nought because Aizen pwns everytime.

I just read about it - apparently in the newest data book Kudo stated that "most of the Espada were Vastolordes." Quite big disappointment if you ask me.

...Words cannot truly describe how disappointed I am right now. I had this grand hope that the legendary Captain-Killer hollows would come out of nowhere and actually make the captains use their bankai to beat them.

What. The. Fuck.

 

Aizen fucked them over, Hollows were nerfed and Captains buffed?

Canon, especially anime, goes to show that Lich King and Harribel were Vasto Lorde, and Ulquiorra being one seems fairly possible too... But Nnoitra? Fuck no.

 

Maybe it is a plural majority. If Ulquiorra and upwards are Vasto Lorde, then Yammy should be one too. And because Aaroniero is Gillian class, most of the Espada would be Vasto Lordes.


BTW: I would have been pissed if at least Stark and Barragan hadn't been Vasto lordes. Ulquiorra and Halibel too.

Stark fought with two captains and to Vizard captains, bossing them around until Kyoraku's hax ability.

Barragan took a destructive bankai straight to face and was still going strong, and could actually only be destroyed by his own power.

Halibel we never saw much of, but she fought against Hitsugaya and two Vizard lieutnants pretty well, and in the end, aizen curb-stomped her.

Ulquiorra was killed by hollowified ichigo, who can't be placed reliably on onto power levels.

And 10 Vasto Lordes were ment to be able to destroy soul society. Four of them were pretty dangerous, even with plot armour ichigo and the help of the Vizards, who were retardedly bad, admittedly

 

God, the apparent power levels in this anime/manga are so skewed, I have no idea what's going on anymore. Stark was bossing it up, Barragan was sufficiently badass, Harribel was downplayed too much and came off as pretty subpar, and Ulquiorra's battle just couldn't be gauged for either fighter.

And somehow, now they're all dead. I don't know if I should feel disappointed from the lack of VastoLorde!Awesomeness (which I was reallyreallyreally looking forward to) or flat out confused by the lack of clarification in this whole damn thing.

I can't really complain because the manga is finally going places again, but damn...
