@THO: I'd already mentioned it earlier, but it merits repeating anyway. Anderson's voice is cashmoney.

@Potterondrugs: you shut your blasphemous mouth, sir D8

A treat for Queen and Breaking Benjamin fans, since I don't see it listed here yet...

Who Wants to Live Forever from the Killer Queen: A Tribute to Queen. Seriously awesome. 8D

At one of the last shows before his death Elliot Smith did a little tribute to the Kinks and made some good covers.Waterloo Sunset

Some other Elliot Smith covers: Trouble(Cat Stevens) My Sweet Lord(George Harrison)
All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down (Hank Williams Jr) Care of Cell 44(Zombies)
    Revolution(The Beatles)

And I'm always up for a Pixies song even if it's being performed by James Blunt....Where Is My Mind(The Pixies)

Rusted Foot cover you can't always get what you want(The Rolling Stones)

311's cover of Love Song(The Cure)

The best cover I can think of: Solitary Man, by Johnny Cash; originally by Neil Diamond.

And if somebody says "Stargate", I'll fuckin' shoot 'em.

    With a P90.

Get it? Because that's the gun they used... in... Stargate... oh fuck you.

This is probably the best cover I've ever seen of a grunge song by a death metal band. Not as good as the original, though. Opeth doesn't do the Dirt sound very well.

With the advent of Dio's death during the summer (one of my favorite bands/singers), several bands have collobarted on a tribute album.

I was ecstatic when I saw one of my favorite bands (Blind Guardian) did a cover of Dio's (Don't Talk to Strangers)

I haven't listened to the rest of the album yet, but a few of the bands that did covers I am quite huge fans of, including Malmsteen, Gamma Ray, Hammerfall.

I do think the original song by Dio is better in this one case, but they can't all be winners.

Where Did You Sleep Last Night covered by Nirvana

It is in my opinion the best cover I've ever heard.

It really stirs the soul. Even more than transcedental meditation.

EDIT: Forgot to put this one in

I have only been able to find this on myspace so far so if anyone can point to where I can get it, I don't mind if I have to pay, than I would be forever grateful.

Commonly recognised as the theme song for the HBO series "Hung" This Land (Is My Land) by The Los Angeles Resource Project is extremely good. Here's a link.

I discovered this one a while back and I like it a lot. Random note about this song I discovered. It is used in one of the episodes of Top Gear, but I don't remember which. I am pretty sure it was one of the cheap car challenges, the economy race to Blackpool, or the drive to the Transfăgărăşan Highway. It's kind of weird how many different random songs they use for background noise. They like to use the LotR soundtrack quite a bit.

Oh, and I hate that Killswitch Engage cover of Holy Diver with a passion, but to each their own.

And yet, it still remains worlds better than Five Finger Death Punch's cover of Bad Company's Bad Company. :|

I actually really like both of those covers. What's the problem you have with them exactly?

I like the KSE cover. The FFDP... Those god damned faggots changed the lyrics in order to make it hip or some shit.... It would have been decent if they hadn't done that... :|

Fuck you, assholes. Do a cover? DON'T CHANGE THE LYRICS. AND DON'T MAKE IT RELEVANT TO THE CITY YOU ARE CURRENTLY IN!
