Devil by M. Night Shyamalan


Set in an office building, the film follows five strangers who become trapped in an elevator and, after several terrifying and inexplicable events occur, begin to turn against each other as they come to suspect that one of them is, in fact, the Devil.

So whats the twist gonna be?

 

That the girl who gets bitten first is the devil, obviously.
I'm never watching anything by M Night again.

 

They're all the devil.

Not gonna see it. After Shyamalan's last few pisstains, I'm not giving him any more of my time or money.

 

Sounds fucking interesting, if I need to be entertained that bad, I'll stab myself with a butter knife.

The Twist? They're all dead, and in hell already

 

Well, the premise sounds interesting. Five strangers, each with their own, unknown personal life and history, and a common setting that brings out the worst in them, and...

...Oh, shit.

 

So all of them blame the devil? Though there might be one guy who calls BS, and he'll die first as a result of his 'foolish' rejection of the supernatural.

Sounds like the general formula for a horror movie, which means it's going to suck, not even counting the fact that M. Night is the director.

 

It's probably the black guy.


The only M. Night movie I remotely enjoyed was Signs, and only because it was fuckin creepy ;o.

 

According to this site and several others, he only came up with the story. Someone else adapted it, someone else is directing it. M. Night is merely a producer.

 

That none of them is the devil and its all a massive hallucination brought on by low oxygen to a comatose patient.

 

It's all a Dream.

How about this. They are all the devil, in a way. All five protagonists in this shitstorm are trapped on an elevator. Anyone and everyone is a suspect, because no one knows what the Devil wants besides the fucked up weird shit that got them all suspicious in the first place.

And what does the Devil do? He sows fear, paranoia, anger, distrust among people. All five of these yahoos are pointing fingers at each other which we all know will eventually lead to physical violence and murder.

Satan's already won.

It turns out that there aren't actually five strangers trapped in a lift but rather one person with Multiple Personality Disorder.

 

My second theory for the twist is that one of them has a very angry Chihuahua.

if m night shamilalamlamalon...? is not actually doing anything than spending money then it has a chance.

But i have become cynical since the happening; I hate that movie with a passion.

Absolutely nothing happened. no lessons learned, no battles won. Just trees, grass and my dieing innocence.

 

That would sound interesting... if I even had a little bit of hope that it could turn out to be an actual psychological/horror movie, and lets face it, that is not going to happen.

My two cents: The whole thing was a social experiment. At the end they get to go home and spend the rest of their lives in therapy.

 

Devil - M. Night Shymalan

So, anyone besides me watch it? For a Shymalan movie, it was decent, and the patented twist was good in and of itself, as well as the ending between the cop and the ex-military guy.
