Well, this has devoured the past 2 days of my life, but I'm done. I have a huge list of fanfiction to catch up with on my email, but it's worth it. I really liked this story, despite the ridiculous spelling mistakes (Consquer? really?). The writing style reminded me of the original books, in its simplicity and its bursts of random facts that make the world so much more believable.

4.5/5. Rated up to 5 as it is a miracle the author has almost finished this behemoth.

Almost finished? To me it looks like the fic has barely started. Unless Voldemort somehow dies, I can't see this fic ending anytime soon.

Tom kills Voldemort, Harry kills Tom and is the new King of Britain. That's how it's going to end.

Well, there is the rest of book 6, and all of book 7. That constitutes almost finished in my eyes. I'm pretty sure the author is going to conclude PotD at the end of book 7. Otherwise, it would be logical to start a new story, with a different title if he has a different station in life. (King, perhaps?) The point is moot, though, because in all likelihood, PotD will be over at book 7. Just a gut feeling.

I'm not sure if Voldemort die in this fic.
He's good for Britain, however horrible his actions are.
Awesome fic. The werewolves are just compelling.

Absolutely disagree with this. If I ever had to rank my favorite fics, PoDK would be very very very close to the top easily. I'm going to be devastated if one day the author decides to not finish it.

New chapter out. Seems like Ron is going very dark-side in this one. What are the chances that it has a bad end to it?

So I've had a bit of problem with this fic for a while - not the story or any of its major developments, I still consider it quite a fun read - and I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed it. How is it that Tom still existed to wreck so much havoc in Germany?

I was under the impression that Voldemort's soul pieces - all of them - were reunited as a whole by whichever goddess Harry prayed/made sacrifices to, however long ago.

If it was explained at any point and I just missed it, I'd apreciate being pointed to the right place to fix that. But if I haven't missed anything and this is a plot hole, it's a huge one.

Given the detail she's put into it, I'd assume it has been covered, but I can't think of the exact spot. She always replies to my reviews though, so could be worth PMing her. I'd suggest it's something to do with him being sentient when they were all reunited, not dormant. Possibly.

Updated again. This chapter was awesome, with the battle and all. It's nice to see Harry in action again, even more so when he actually knows what he is doing.

Finally caught up with the recently posted chapters of Book VI.

I liked the action in the last chapter but wondered when Harry is ever going to grow out of the panic attacks. He just froze up and had to get saved by Kingsley(I like how he has been written in) before he finally started fighting back. The author seems intent on focusing on the fact that Harry is still very much a child even after all of the battles he's been a part of.

I'm just glad that Harry finally did something. He seems to just sit around and let shit happen and let people control him (kinda like canon). Going on a murderous rage is awesome, best thing that happened since he tried to strangle that german after the werewolf massacre. This story needs more of that kind of Harry.

Another update. It's a transitional chapter.

Definite 5/5. Far and away the best septology I've read. While still retaining a lot of what made the canon books great, Mizuni-sama makes sure to change his story for the better. The series doesn't fall prey to the common pitfalls and turn everything dark or make a super!Harry. His characters all act logically and consistently in a very interesting manner, but the gold in the story is the world.

The intricately designed society Voldemort has created is extremely engrossing, I could read about it all day. The political maneuvering and societal classes are exactly what I expected when I came to fanfiction. The detail put into the world is pretty astounding.

The religion aspects can be a little obvious, but in general serves its purpose plot-wise without intruding onto the story.

I really like how the story ramps up throughout. The first book plays out like a first book - The events are less intense, more innocent, and the tone slowly becomes darker, as the fic progresses. Just a brilliant work. Definitely a 5/5, and definitely one of the best.

Not to say that it isn't a good story because it is. It definitely is. The concepts of the fic are complex and well thought out. I read this fic a long time ago...but then I dropped out of it.

    Why?

It's lost its focus. I could no longer feel the tension and drive that are essential to a story anymore by chapter 60 something (and it's already in the 90s chapter already I think). It reads more and more like an theological essay that disguises itself as a story. I just didn't have the heart to follow it anymore.

    3.5/5...for old time's sake.

I completely agree on the society point. The involutional nature of Voldemort's England is one of the cornerstones of this story. Everything is built around it like a layered shell.

The mystical elements are in my opinion both well done and necessary. They separate England's dictator from his minions and by association do the same to Harry. It not only provides the excuse for interaction between the two but also allows for tutelage outside the expected box. Masterfully done in my opinion.

What really sells this story for me it's it believability. Adults are adults, competent, powerful and caring; children are children, behaving accordingly to age (except for the protagonist that is). There are no major plot dumps. Of course there are stumbles (how could there not be, the story has more than 100 chapter written over a period of time) but nothing major or plot breaking. The story flows and I'm happy to be in one of the boats.

    http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3766574/117/ Update.

Barely advances the plot at all, and the always present spelling errors are particularly rife here, complete with a large section of the first scene that keeps shifting tense. It's not a terribly interesting chapter, in all honesty - a lot of character interaction, which is always fun, but there's more focus on all the leather Harry and his friends wear to a club than on the main plot arcs...

Yes. It should be a general rule that more than a sentence on how leather makes you sexy and dark is never allowed.

Aside from that, this chapter was just a 'summer' chapter; a lighter interlude to refresh the story before jumping into the rough stuff - war, politics, messy battles personal and military.

    I hope.
