When I first heard of this/was recommended it by another forum, I was a little skeptical, it didn't sound all that great but I was wrong. Winning Emmys 3 years in a row for best drama/Jon Hamm as best actor doesn't even begin to describe just how good this show is. To be honest, it did take a few episodes before the show grew on me but it's great. There's 3 complete seasons and season 4 is at 6 episodes.

Another brilliant show by AMC that I'd highly recommend. :D

I fucking love this show. So damn much. The most recent episode knocked it out of the park - Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss are fantastic to watch and very good at what they do. I'll too note that the show didn't exactly sound that great on first read, but I was very glad I started watching and it's now become my favourite show - it's got layers upon layers, some awesome character arcs and it never fails to entertain.

Another vote for this show. I'm only halfway through season 2 right now, but it's blowing my mind away.

Also, each and everytime I pitch the show to a friend so they'll watch it, I only get blank stares. After they watch a few episodes, they all want to go out and drink Martinis and Old Fashioned.

Though I may be forgetting other awesome episodes in the series, haven't re-watched in awhile, 'The Suitcase' will definitely be staying as one of my favourite episodes of any TV show for a long time.

Currently on season 3, just started watching it on Tuesday as per DLP recommendation. That's how good it is.

John Hooker: "Mr. Kinsey, you might want to shave your beard.
Kinsey: "What? Who the hell are you people?"

That whole episode was a highlight of the middle of season three. I'm glad you're liking it man.

I've never seen anything this hilariously offensive in my entire life.

"Okay, guys, who put the Chinamen in my office!?"

    :awesome

Just started on season one. A feminist or civil rights activist, I wager, would make it to about episode six before spontaneously combusting.

Also, I'm pretty sure cigarette company executives watch this instead of porn. I haven't found five smoke free minutes since I started.

    Best show on tv.

Although I wasn't too pleased with the writer's
randomly making Roger racist towards the Japanese a few episodes ago. That came out of fucking nowhere.

Tell me about it, when I saw Betty Draper smoking and drinking while she was pregnant around 3 seasons in; I just yawned.

    Also, Christina Hendricks. :awesome

Actually, if you read the blogs, Mad Men is very popular among feminists. It's conservatives who tend to get pissed off at the show, because they insist it's all exaggerated and the sexism and racism wasn't really that bad. (It was. And so was the smoking. Y'all have no idea how much it sucked to be a non-smoker before they did away with smoking sections in restaurants, airplanes, and every other public place.)

I thought that worked really well what with the small reminders about Roger fighting in WW2 throughout the other 3 seasons. Expanded on his characterisation a bit and showed that he does have some demons like the rest of the characters.

The director is the show is 'obsessive'* about making sure that the thread is true to how life was back in the 60s, that's why we're seeing the smoking/drinking/racism.

*Read a Mad Men related article somewhere, the cast said that the script has to be read word for word, no improvisation is allowed and they spend ages making sure that everything is set to how things were in the 60s.

    Alison Brie :awesome

    Really fantastic episode.

I really couldn't help but 'lolwtf' when Lane's father smacked Lane over the head with his cane; then proceeded to step onto his hand until he called out in submission. For an old guy, he was pretty agile.

Also, with Lucky Strikes bowing out I'm really interested to see what the writers come up with as a substitute. I don't see them getting the firm to get another multi-million dollar company; unless Hilton wants another shot.

Oh wow. That finale... It was good, and it did a decent job of culminating the fact that Don is fucked up and has been looking for anything to hold onto for a while now, but Matthew Weiner has to realise that a majority of the audience is going to feel trolled, right? Great season overall though.
