That's what I read too and I suspect they mean the Unifying Force, although they were never clear on it.

Yeah I came in to post this myself. The dev quote, was something like, you're background newbie Jedi #3, while the bounty hunter class is the very elite, uber trained special soldier with advanced equipment.

To be fair you're talking 100,000 out of trillions of people in the canon known universe. Or less then 0.000005% if 2 trillion ppl. That's still stupid rare.

 

I never actually thought about it like that. When you realise just how many people there are in the SW Universe, the idea that there's a bunch of super elite Bounty Hunters working for the Empire becomes a lot more believable.

 

Or hell if they had masks you couldn't take off, you could just claim they're all clones of a few elite hunters with genetic memory. A stretch, but the clone troopers were essentially that with modified training.

 

And the idea that a 12 person squadran á la Rouge Squadran could matter becomes laughable.

 

Also you have to realize that not everyone exists in the same reality as you. Sure, they might be playing the same game, but that's just to give you someone to play with.

The story that is presented, even though others get to view it, is for your character and perhaps your friends or guild. You are the main character and YOU do the feats.

If there were 100,000 people of hero caliber roaming the galaxy, there would BE no story.

 

I dont think that's quite how it will be. At least from what has so far been released, it will be kind of like Battlefront in the respect that you may be a living breathing player, but you are trooper/simple Jedi Knight. You are not this awesome General whom everyone respects and follows his orders. You take orders and follow them. And you fight wars along with other players against other players. I dunno how the rank system will work or if you will ever get to be this awesome general, but I'm guessing that if yes, you'll have to really work for it. Like, only those who play ten hours a day and buy premiums without doing anything else will manage it.

In one of the developer videos, it was stated that they wanted you to feel epic, like a hero from one of the movies. You wade into a group of soldiers, take them out, and walk away brushing the dust off your shoulder.

Again, the world isnt persistent as far as I can tell. Changes you make wont be there for anyone but yourself, if at all. The vibe Im getting from what we've been given so far is that it will be like a KOTOR game, but with other people along for the ride.

 

I do not think it will be that way, but if it is, it will be less awesome than I imagined. It will be great to be sure, but we have lots of games like that. I'd like it more if everyone played at the same time, but there are problems with that too.
Oh well, however it is, I will play it and judge after.

There's been a series of updates since the last post and This is the recent one. Pre-game Guilds sounds interesting

I'm definitely looking forward to this game still. Had dropped of my radar till I saw this. Not sure about pre-game guilds since usually I judge which guild I join by how the people play. If as a group I can't mesh with them, then I try again.
