The humour here is derived from the juxtaposition from one train of thought to another: a cognitive shift due to the unexpected sudden change in perspective. The two exist as two contexts and viewpoints on two different things - in this case, the story being told in real-life terms and idea of Star Wars or Spongebob - and the humour stems from a collision between these two frames of reference.

Biologically speaking, laughter requires vocal chords... if you're going to pass as human, then understanding this is vital. And covering up the circuitry beneath the skin will help you to blend in.
