F & G give the map to Harry on the first Hogsmeade weekend in Harry's third year, two weeks left in the term. Although they claim not to need it any more because they have memorized it, the fact that it tells you where everyone in the school is located, in real time cannot not be over looked. They stole it from Filich in their first year. So, we are to believe that for two and roughly half years, they never noticed Ron sleeping with some one named Peter?
So an alternate passing off of the Marauders Map, but with Fred and George questioning Harry if Ron is gay. Thus exposing Peter earlier.

Nah, pretty happy with what I got. More like, hard to explain, but guys (especially on this site) are known for being assholes. Saying whatever they want basically, in a no-nonsense sort of way. So saying I sound like one is like saying I'm not afraid to be a bitch.

That's a very broad generalization. I'd rather hang out with guys most of the time, mainly because most girls are annoying bitches (at least the ones at my school). I wouldn't say I'm one of the guys, but I'm not some preppy cheerleader type who would get offended to be called one either.

But seriously, I normally assume guy unless the gender is specified under the username, and then I give the benefit of the doubt. You having posted what I assume are pictures of yourself in the PYP thread gives further credence as far as I'm concerned, but in terms of this forum, it really shouldn't matter the vast majority of the time. The exceptions being when gender issues are being discussed, of course.

 

Here are some GoF World Cup divergences I haven't seen before in a story, though they might have been discussed elsewhere.

1. The trio goes a different root in the forest when the Death Eaters start doing their thing after the match. This means that Harry is not present at the location where The Dark Mark was cast, but his wand is found on the seen regardless. The story could go in many directions from there. This would probably work better as a sub-plot in a rewrite than an actual starting point.

2. Pettigrew finds Voldemort much quicker than in canon. This means that he doesn't stumble on Bertha, causing them to be unaware of the upcoming Triwizard. The upcoming World Cup is common knowledge however, so they might try a kidnapping attempt there, the Death Eater riot would definitely work in there favour if they make that choice. The likelihood of Harry escaping is lower because he can't summon things yet, but the plot could turn into a somewhat interesting mutation of GoF and OoTP if he somehow finds a way.

 

The first one sounds more like a one-shot than anything else. You'd have to add something to it to make it longer.

The second one sounds like a good idea but it would have to be planned to a nicety otherwise it would just seem improbable and unrealistic. Also what about Ron and Hermione? Would they be kidnapped too? Or will the Golden Trio get separated in the kerfuffle?

 

Mm...one weird plot bunny that I had was where Hermione had started to become very (over)protective/supportive of Harry after the events of book three, becoming 'gray' and borderline dark in her pursuit of helping him/keeping him safe/happy.
This includes breaking or borderline breaking her own 'light' ethics on things such as blackmail. Eventually, this causes her to become very manipulative (like out of a bad manipulative!Dumbledore fic'), covertly influencing him to study harder, weaken ties with potential 'dead weight' (see, Ron), encourage him to forge connections, to ensure that he's happy, etc, even at the cost of her own happiness/by any means required.

Possible reasoning could be the ol' 'Hermione had few friends pre-Hogwarts, and thus treasures the ones that she has now' cliche gone to the extreme.

Harry's behavior during her petrification could be the start of it (after she had awoken and become aware of it), and the escapade that occurred following year cementing it.
Alternatively, the ripple effect (butterfly effect) from an event that did not occur within canon within the past (thus dramatically altering the canon events- see parallel universes spawned by a choice, e.g., "Should I eat that nut, or not eat that nut?") could cause her behavior.
(Maybe as a side effect from the petrification, or being hit by a permanent mind altering curse or suffering a head injury, or something?)

Another thought that I had was based upon a post made by me (or was it someone else?) a few pages back: events outside of Harry's control (thus, not directly caused by him intentionally or not, they'd mainly be chain situations of circumstance) that slowly influence/transform any woman that he has a regular connection with (or they have with him, e.g., seeing him as a little brother or unrequited romantic feelings, or just simple friendship/respect/admiration) into near religious zealots/fanatics that are hell bent on protecting/defending him, even without his knowledge. For example, see Hermione's potential behavior in the first plot bunny.

I could just imagine Tonks and Hestia shadowing Harry when he was out and about, ruthlessly breaking a Death Eater's neck when they thought that he/she could be a threat to him and then hiding/disposing of the body, and then reporting back to Hermione on how their 'protection detail' went. I could also imagine the Dursley family pissing their collective pants regularly when they realise that Harry/they were being shadowed now, and them being threatened with actual bodily harm from Tonks/Hestia.

"Uncle Vernon, may I please have some orange juice?"

"WHA-" Vernon sees Tonks half lurking within the shadows behind Harry, clenching her fist in a threatening/warning manner and staring at him hatefully with narrowed, red eyes. Vernon promptly gulps in fear and resists the urge to soil his boxers.

"Of course, boy."

It wouldn't be a 'bond' fic', since aside from the circumstances happening to Harry, no magic/influencing from him would affect them in any way.
