Amusing enough in the start, but the novelty wore off somewhere around "I'm going to Dance all Night." Still, watching it every once in a while. And kinda awaiting the season finale. Even if the drama is sub-par, it is fun.

This. This is why I do watch. Because no matter how bad the script it, how problematic the plot and contrived the storyline, it is really a heckuva lot of fun to watch. So I do.

Brittany (the Downey, slow chick) was sexy as shit in the last episode.

(That'd be all kinds of awkward if she was actually retarded, and wasn't 23 irl...)

I was busy being distracted by the girl to the right of Lea Michele in her Britney number, the one wearing green. Baby got abs like all get out.

And the drama is cheesy, but it doesn't waste time trying to be realistic and doesn't pass up chances to make fun of itself. It jumps rapidly between incredibly silly and whoa dark tones. Of course, seeing as the director is the same guy who did Nip/Tuck, this isn't exactly surprising.

Still, I would have liked it if they hadn't introduced and promptly killed like three potentially interesting conflict points in the very first episode (fattie dyke coach, Lea's asian butterface rival, and that blonde Stephen Tyler looking muddafugga). Kind of jarring.

Well, at least they got most of the good Spears numbers. Though I must say, the absence of Matthew Morrison's psycho wife doing Oops I Did It Again is a terrible waste of opportunity.

Agreed. Hell, they actually managed to make Rachel moderately attractive in the last episode - of course, they then ruined it by giving her the most needy, passive-aggressive bitch personality on the show. And then by making us all feel incredibly uncomfortable ten minutes later
when Jacob gets caught jacking off in the library while he's interviewing her over the computer. Seriously, WTF? And the entire 'Toxic' performance crowd reaction was just awkward and coupled with Will performing...

I think the schizo tone of the last episode had more to do with the source material than anything - given Spears' eclectic personality, they wanted to make an episode with a tone reminiscent of that. Although it looks like things could be stabilizing a bit in the near future, what with the recent previews (although (again), next episode is Glee vs. religion... yikes).

And they missed the opportunity for Quinn to sing 'Womanizer' to Puck and for Rachel to sing 'Lucky' at the end of the episode (as that song, you know, might be indicative of character development in Rachel). And am I the only one who is thoroughly tired of that girl singing the final ballads at the ends of episodes? The last good one was 'Total Eclipse of the Heart', and that had more to do with Jesse than Rachel.

I watch Glee for laughs, and this episode really kind of ruined it by trying to be serious. Only great part was the grilled jesus.

I skipped every single song except for Puck and Finns

    R.E.M ftw

R.E.M. cover was sick, Billy Joel cover was aight, and "God Was One Of Us" was legit. I was waiting for them to put the fat black girl in a baptist church - this was that episode (nevermind that she could've been Episcopalian...). Lea did a Streisand song better than Streisand: not really shocking at this point.

The Beatles cover...it was fail in execution, but compositionally brilliant. I've absolutely never thought of "Hold Your Hand" in a mournful context, and a better singer could've really done something with it.

(Perhaps I should say "different" singer; Kurt sings well, but I just don't like his voice most of the time.)

Agreed with the Brittney posts. If she wasn't portrayed to have an iq of 50 she would be even higher in my books. But damn that girl can dance.

They basically lifted the arrangment directly from Across the Universe. Still pretty good, though.
