Latest episode (Episode 5 - "Cloverdale") was really, really weird. It was basically just a filler episode, although the situation with Chloe does get more interesting. Hopefully a meaningful episode will come along soon.

Yeah, Cloverdale was...horrible. The end was alright and Greer with a flamethrow is always great...but otherwise it wasn't that interesting.

Stargate has always had at least one filler episode like these each season, even in SGA and SG1, and there have been worse episodes in the history of the franchise.

At least next weeks episode looks like it could be good.

Filler or not, I liked Cloverdale. It was, I dunno, fun, kinda. Greer with the flamethrower is always appreciated.

As for big events, I think the next three are all supposed to be big ones, though sometimes with this show it's hard to tell from the promos Syfy puts out and vague spoilers. Let's see...

Episode six will involve the blue aliens coming back, and I think Eli will finally be getting some from the redhead LA chick. Episode seven is Rush and Young hashing it out, so fingers crossed Young'll headbutt him to death. And episode eight is supposed to be a big 'showdown' episode with the LA baddie played by Robert Knepper. I bet he kills some recurring character. And then gets killed. Good times.

At least I'll enjoy it somewhat. Not exactly best television ever, but then again, I didn't think the same of the other two Stargates. Still good fun though.

I made it to S01E09 before I quit. In that whole time they didn't encounter one violent enemy that they needed to shoot.

In other words, SGU ain't stargate.

Really? I know 1.08 "Time" involved shooting evil little alien critters.

You should have at least waited until 1.11 "Space" when the 'Blues' show up. The Blues show up a couple more times as well.

SGU is still Stargate, it's just not exactly going to have them go through the gate, find bad guy, fight bad guy, save day somehow, come home sort of formula that nearly every episode of SG-1/SGA were.

I'm probably gonna end up watching some more tonight, I've stocked up on vodka and apple cider to at least make me feel good about watching the shit.

As to "time", that wasn't shooting aliens, that was making friends with aliens. Different concepts >_>.

Elli is getting less and less chances of banging Chloé - not that he had much chances to begin with.

Otherwise, the episode was average. I thought the alien plants were badly done CGI-wise.

Yeah, so here I am waiting for Hulu to upload last weeks video and it hasn't happened yet. (I was going on the whole "we upload the cool shows a week after they were aired, because we hate you like that".)

So I go to the show page, just to make sure I didn't accidentally the subscribe thingy, and see this:

I think this is appropriate right about now:

Also...inb4torrent. Been trying to slow down on that shit, before I get The Notice.

Seriously? Man...I need to go rewatch that episode.

To be sure...we're talking about the episode where the gate is malfunctioning and stuff, and the team is on Destiny watching Kino footage of what happened to the team that originally went there. Right?

I don't recall making nice with any of those critters.

@Militis - I think they did that, the 30 day thing, perhaps because of low Live+Same Day ratings for the show. Last week the ratings dipped below one million, though this week they were back to just over.

I had to torrent episode 4 of season 2 because of that BS.

    Noob question: The Notice?

Usually a letter you get from your ISP telling you they caught you downloading illegal shit, they're cutting you off, and you'll probably have some big fines laid on your ass. IIRC, Vash has a copy somewhere. (Whether his is legit or not, they DO send them out.)

Psst, usenet. It's faster than torrents, costs $11 a month, and no need to worry about getting "the letter" unless your start downloading terabytes a month =D.

You know, I'm in the middle of watching SGU when I get reminded of something. Female soldiers do not look like THIS.

Geez, she's gonna poke an eye out with those things.

Julia Benson can poke my eye out any day with those things. Be more then happy to serve God and Country if they issued me with her before I went out on a mission.

SGU is a colossal fail on the stargate franchise. And makes me sad. :(

Greer is the best character on this entire show. I love how he goes apeshit over absolutely nothing sometimes.

Very good episode last night I thought, one of the better episodes for SGU so far.

From what I've read about the rest of the season, things should start heating up as they gain more control over Destiny and find out it's true purpose. Looking forward to it.

And I agree with the previous post, Greer is great. Liked him in this episode helping out Eli.

Yeah just watched it this morning actually. The last 3 episodes of season 1 and almost all of Season 2 have been pretty damn good.

Greer is awesome. Eli is awesome. Put the two in scenes together involving Eli possibly getting laid, and the episode turns out pretty good. I think next week and the week after's episodes are supposed to up the ante some more. Not quite sure about the ninth and tenth episodes, but we'll see.
