I'm conflicted. On one hand, this is the most contrived plot device I've seen in a while. On the other, it's shaping up to be a battle royal between pretty much every bad ass character to have ever appeared in the manga; to top it all off, there are zombies.

Actually, I kind of liked this chapter too. Not because it was good or anything but because I am a sucker for awesome teams and the prospect of some very cool fights. Come on, Kankuro leading the ambush squad? How awesome is that?

That being said, it is crazy how Iwa could have possibly lost to Konoha. Tsuchikage could make a turtle with a 1km radius fly or so fly high enough to take cover within the clouds. He couldn't fly a huge rock over konoha and drop it? Or a big ass platform with 200 ninja and ambush Konoha? How much did they suck if they lost the war if they could fly?

I know, Minato but even he couldn't have done anything if house sized boulders rained on konoha.

 

But the translation says the army will be going through the village hidden in the mist.

Is there another translation out besides from mangastream?

btw, I read it, wasn't so bad. It's lame that old villains were recycled, but as long as Kishimoto doesn't fuck it up it could be awesome ... so it won't be. Sigh.

I'm half expecting that the Joint Army will have their asses kicked, simply because grunts on the good side always do.

Has anyone else noticed that while Madara has three tomoes on his mask (or paths, or realms, or whatever the hell he calls it), Naruto also has six on his collar? If memory serves, there was a mention (probably by Madara) that there were nine. What's up with that?

Edit: Nemrut- yes he could, but Minato would have just used a time-space Jutsu and make it appear above Hidden Stone instead. Remember what he did during his fight with the Kyuubi?

 

Awesome chapter. You can feel that this is it - end of the manga is near, but first we will see what it look like when shinobi have their equivalent of world war. And one of colored pages reminded me that Naruto is still only a genin.

As for resurrections of everybody. Well it was that or the only fights we would see would be everybody vs. Zetsus, which would be boring. But I have one question - where is Jiraiya? Or Minato, but with him I don't remember if he can be resurrected (I'm pretty sure Orochimaru was trying, but Hiruzen stopped him).
