Just want to know if anybody is dressing up or chucking a party.

Me and my general circle of friends are getting costumed up and heading off down to the cinemas. My costume's almost finished I'll post pics in a few days.

I also dare someone to turn up as the golden snitch. Just papier mache an exercise ball paint it gold saw in half, apply some sort of hinging system, cut holes for various appendages and attach gauzy golden material to your arms for the wings.

I thought of the idea but I pussied out and am now going as Loony Luna. I wouldn't be able to sit down in the cinema if I did it. CapitalT would probably roll me down the stairs at the end of the show for laughs.

What are your plans? Anybody nearby who wants to meet up for it? I'm pretty sure we'd be happy to accommodate anybody who wants to stay over for a night or something.

Anybody over the age of 18 probably won't enjoy it as we will all be incredibly hyperactive.

Teenage fanboys/girls + energy drinks + "The Most Anticipated Film of the Decade" = nightmare for a bird who is not of the feather

Oh god why. Coincidence that you're a girl? I think not.

Also, how is it a big thing to say it's "the most anticipated film of the decade" when the decade is only 11 months along?

I anticipate my next bowel movement more than I do the DH movie(s).

Damn right, I would, but as I seem to remember, you ripped my arms off at one particular little gathering when we tried to pull off an amazing dance move and I wasn't ready. Anyway, pretty sure I'm going as a dementor. I have an incredible black bed sheet that will do quite nicely, though nothing on your costume Sacrosanct.

Me thinks you're alone there, Sree

Well, I doubt anyone else is anticipating his next- you're right there. Even so, it's arrival is more unpredictable and therefore surprising than DH, and the results are expected to be similar.

I don't know if I am even gonna watch it. CapitalT, you really aren't seeming that bright so far.

Sacro, I honestly thought this post was by one of the Newbies. I actually did a double take when I saw your name above your new avatar.

And inviting DLPers to 'stay over the night or something' is not something i'd do either. :p

Ouch. I can honestly say I am excited to watch the movie. No, the movies are certainly not better then the books in any way, and no, I'm anticipating on finding the movie to be fantastic, but it's still a lot of fun to watch, and if the movies stood alone, not based on a book, I think they'd be throughly enjoyed rather then compared to a story that would take far too long to be put into a movie that includes every tiny detail. The fact this is split in two has to be a massive incentive to go though, even if you haven't seen the previous ones. If the directors plan to spread the movie over 4-6 hours, I have to imagine it will be amazing.

Even if, by some stretch of the imagination, I enjoyed watching those sad excuses for movies... I would not dress up for them. Probably due to the ownership of a Y chromosome. :p

Although DH might actually have something going for it, mostly because this is one of the few situations that ignoring the books would actually be positive. And HP directors are nothing if not good at ignoring the books.

However, I hope that those of you that are anticipating this movie are not disappointed. It's actually rather nice to see that some people from DLP will be having fun when it comes out.

So the best of luck to you. ^^

I am afraid that many of us are a bit too jaded to even consider the possibility that it might be tolerable.

    Please note the age restriction.

Well, sorry for assuming that a forum that is called Dark Lord Potter to have at least a FEW people who are looking forward to seeing the movie.

I might have to make another pair of my patented enembee glasses. It was my Halloween costume, along with a felt-tipped scar.

I'm not as excited as I was when I thought I'd be in London (manly tears), but the girl I'm currently seeing has been a pain lately. I think surprising her by taking to see DH while nerded out will be a nice way to make her want to end things.

Maybe I'll get a Slytherin costume, call myself Blaise (Heh. Heh.), and call her "filthy Mudblood" all night.

I'm looking forward to seeing it, but I'm not making plans for it. I'm a geek, but I have my limits.

After being here for a year you shouldn't assume anything. You should know. But obviously, what you know seems very limited.

You know, being female and all.

Judging by the fact that a couple of people have replied saying they are looking forward to DH or at least have made plans I would say that I assumed correctly. And to assume correctly one needs to know their subject to a certain degree.

I felt pretty certain that there would be a few people (admittedly not many) who anticipated a good show.

And about me saying DH is the most anticipated film of the decade, its in quote marks which is commonly used to convey sarcasm.

Hmm, a couple of people. One person, CapitalT, seems to be your RL friend, therefore probably just as retarded as you. So that doesn't count at all.

Another person said he would see it, but implied that he wasn't really very excited about it.

Everyone else gave a version of, "Wtf are you on?"

So yeah, you stupid dyke bitch, I'd say you assumed wrong.

    Sree is so mean. :c

I might be going to see it with the caving club. Hopefully no one throws up this time (although it'd be amusing to watch someone get sick on someone dressed as Malfoy or some shit).

My plans include watching it in IMAX and explaining everything to my dad, who of course will have no idea what is happening, as he's never read any of the books and has probably forgotten what's happened in the previous movies. Hopefully my mom will remember stuff, otherwise it'll be really bad.

While I don't expect much out of the movie and will definitely not be implementing any nerdy plans, I think it's one of those movies I have to see for the principle of the matter. So yeah.

I'm going to see it, though I'm under no illusions of it being a particularly good movie. I'd probably just sit there and make fun of it with my friends like I did during HBP. Which, admittedly, was amusing. Especially since we laughed at how bad Dumbledore's death scene was... People actually burst into tears for that shit. They weren't very happy with us for laughing.

Sacro, where are you going to see it?

Probably Highett or Frankston. You anywhere near?

EDIT: CapitalT just called. She's gone. She hated it while she was here and only really signed on because I nagged her. She might come back when she grows some hairy motherfuckin' balls... or just thicker skin.

Not especially. The commute would be easy if it weren't for the fact that my mum forbids me to go on the Frankston train at night.
