In a world as violent as this one, relationships are fleeting...that's why I ship Ash/Sabrina. She's probably the only trainer more dangerous than her pokemon. Also, what is with the lack of armor on Misty? Who goes into battle not wearing any armor even though she owns armor? For that, she deserves to die.

I think she deserved to die because Ash decided to let Jessie live a few chapters back. Smooth move dude. Man I hope he realises that happened and cops that guilt somehow.

I was indeed anticipating something similar because both Ash and Jessie acknowledged that he was going to regret letting her live. Ain't foreshadowing helpful. Of course I never expected it to be Misty but yeah I can see a bit, at least, of angst in the future.

As to the Pokemon he will use...eh doesn't matter to me.

I'm curious about why having 20+ Pokemon is is impractical.
The poke-balls can fit in a bag if necessary, so why not have 30?

Unless you label them, I'd have to say telling them apart.

    Hm...

    I'd say:
    Snorlax
    Charizard
    Vaporeon or Blastoise
    Pidgeot
    Pikachu
    Arcanine

And Haunter/Gengar, who hasn't been caught yet. If he's doing the 6-ball restriction, that is.

They won't obey you - though someone like Lance might pull off such a feat.

I don't think it is that they wont obey, that shouldn't be a problem as long as you only let a few out at a time. I was thinking more along the lines of feeding and caring for them. Any more than 3 or 4 Carnivores and they wont be able to hunt enough food. They all would require a certain amount of attention which would bog the trainer down with inane tasks as well.

The food restriction makes more sense than they not obeying, especially within the context of this world's focus on food sources...

Still, small Pokemon can be really powerful and not consume much food.

I hadn't realized that Blastoise was still alive. I also hadn't meant to put both vaporeon and slowbro. I omitted pidgeot and arcanine to avoid type repititions.

    New list:

    Snorlax
    Charizard
    Haunter/Gengar
    Blastoise/Omastar
    Executor/Pinsir
    Pikachu

The fossil thing could be interesting to read about, maybe.

Do Pokemon need to eat while they are in their balls?

I wonder how 50cc would portray Mew in this world. Mewtwo seems direct and apathetic, would Mew be childish and destructive?

Why the hell wasn't Misty using Blastoise if it's still alive? Instead, she was using the worthless Staryu,.

I wonder if Ash will capture Mewtwo like in the manga, although I'd love to see him with a Lugia or Ho-Oh.:awesome

But I suppose if the Legendaries are uber and as powerful as they're supposed to be, it wouldn't be practical. You know, because Lugia was about the length of an aeroplane.

    most likely

    Pikachu
    Charizard
    Haunter / Gengar ?
    Butterfree
    Pidgeot

    with a ?

Arcanine fought Arbok, which bites are probably still poisonous (very small ?)
Blastoise also fought Arbok a while back and didn't return since then. (dead ?)
Snorlax as a tribute to Misty.
Vaporeon is the only water-type and was unharmed.

what I would like to see later on

    Lapras is just
Gyarados rival to Charizard and just as badass/crazy
Nidoking a heavy hitter to stop those Rhydon 2.0
    --
About Ash, after some angst/hate he will be more ruthless against his foes and continue alone as the Lone Avenger:cool:

Chances are the legendaries are more Forces Of Nature than regular pokemon in this, so no catching for them. Hell, just consider the fact that Charizard has been capable of brute forcing his way through every fight he's been in so far, then think of how Ho-oh is an order of magnitude more powerful than that.

God damn niggers using ma pokemanz for a lighter :<

And I suppose but we both know how bad ass it would be to have Mewtwo string everybody up and snap their spines lawl. Or Ho-Oh sneezing and killing everybody :awesome

    What about the Elite 4?
I think that a sufficiently strong trainer with massively strong Pokemon(Lance?) could take down a Legendary.

If it's in the vein of Legendaries actually being what they're supposed to, i.e. Lugia's a guardian of the oceans who can destroy cliffs with a light fluttering of it's wings and potentially create a full blown storm if it flapped them hard enough.

Ho-Oh can resurrect the dead (perhaps how Misty could return?Although Ash isn't a totally pure trainer as he has killed, it could be argued he is a pure trainer in regards to his care of Pokemon)

Celebi can also resurrect the dead and can travel through time.

Mewtwo, whilst not a 'natural' Pokemon, is an extremely powerful Psychic Pokemon. In the anime he could create storms with his psychic abilities, not sure about the manga though.

Mew is another Psychic Pokemon who can learn any move, transform into any Pokemon and can turn invisible.

Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos are the Legendary birds. Articuno can encase itself in a block of ice and presumably freeze people to death, Moltres can create fires into the thousands of Celsius (I forget the exact number) and Zapdos can continually power Lt Surge's gym for who knows how long so it's pretty powerful also. They could freeze, burn or fry your ass without even trying.

Groudon and Kyogre could, respectfully, raise the world's surface so there was no water and raise the water levels so there was no land.

The other one that's the trio master of the Weather Pokemon, I've forgotten it's name, can calm the previous two so it has to have some power aswell.

Giratina, a very violent pokemon that was banished for being too violent and could create portals to other dimensions. Could place you in a dimension with no air or that's boiling hot or freezing cold.

Palkia can warp space and move large spaces with a mere thought and create doors that could lead thousands of miles away. If it were to fight with it's brother it could rip the space time continuity apart. Could drop you in a whirlpool.

Dialga can slow time down, speed it up or stop it altogether if it wanted to. Again, if it were to fight with Palkia it could rip the space time continuity apart. How could you fight something that can stop time without you even knowing it?

Arceus, the macdaddy of the Pokemon world, the creator of the world. The motherfucker could destroy you without trying.

TL;DR these guys are pretty damn powerful, they can't be too powerful in game for balance issues but in the anime and manga they are fucking bosses.
