    This season's shaping up...

Crowley aka The Motherfucking Man wants more power and is trying to access Purgatory in order to get it. He wants his Alpha fiends for info, and he's got everybody under his leash, because he's The Motherfucking Man. And there's an angel civil war which'll either tie into the main Crowley plot - Raphael looking for real estate too - or simply keep Cas away from the boys for a while. And Sam's soul is being held hostage in the meantime. Oh, and Dean's probably still got issues with Lisa.

Not exactly an apocalypse, but if the episodes fly high and they maybe bring back Death sometime in the season, I'm in.

Plus, more Crowley. Never a bad thing.

Crowley is indeed the man. So King of Hell is like the mantle of winter then? You know, gaining power with a title.

Loved the Winchester - Campbell interactions. This time when the incest hillbillies accused Dean of being weak and inexperienced, he just looked at them, knowing they were just being retarded and didn't answer as no answer was needed.

Cass, as always, was great. I have to say, except for the first two episodes, this season is not bad at all.

Crowley's the man. I'm starting like Gwen more. Gramps is an ass. Dean and Sam need to get their shit together. Other Campbell cousin is a douche who I'd be happy to see die. Good couple of episodes.

    OK, I liked the episode.
That said, there is one point that I'd concrit if I were beta'ing it .

Does anyone else think that we went from "Dean and Bobby being the only ones who think that Sam isn't Doing Fine" to "Everyone knows Sam's ...er... condition(?) and has a plan to use it" pretty darn fast?

Also, I don't really like Gwen. Yet. She might be developing a personality, though.

What happened, anyway? One second, everyone is fighting for their lives, the next several people are just gone? Did I miss something, or does Crowley have a "send to hell, no saving throw" attack?

If Samuel is working with Crowley in order to save Mary then I think that maybe he is redeemable as a character, if he isn't then I really can't think of a good reason why he would have gone to a demon in the first place.

I am basing this on other discussions that Mary is in fact in Purgatory, but I could be off base.

Also Crowley is kinda like movie Lex Luthor working a real estate angle.

Line of the night for me was the deadpan delivery of : Of course, your problems always come first.

Yeah, this is probably my favorite season for Cass's character.

My favorite part of the episode was Cas and Samuel meeting for the first time.

Samuel: This Castiel? You're scrawnier than I pictured.

Castiel: This is a vessel. My true form is approximately the size of your Chrysler Building.

    Dean: Alright, alright, quit bragging.

I remember back in season 5 Sam and Dean bumped into Ash in heaven and he tells them he hasn't found Mary or John Winchester. I was thinking this could be something worth remembering.

Part of me was a bit annoyed that Crowley was the mysterious new big bad, but then I realized that more Crowley is a good thing.

As awesome as this season is shaping up to be, I can't help but be rather annoyed at times. The one thing that bugs (which is not really a big thing tbh) is that whenever we run into a new "Oh Crap!" big bad (the Alphas, Crowley, whatever) everyone is all "OMG how does it die???", while I'm sitting there saying "shoot the mother fucker with the Colt" - oh wai... it disappeared into to the too easy box ...

Still Crowley is an awesome big bad and I'm really glad that there is going to be a convincing bad guy for the remainder of the season.

I'm kinda thinking that Crowley has made the Colt disappear by now, even if it had been around for for the Apocalypse in the first place (after the first attempt that is).

Personally, I find Crowley to be the scariest/best villain of all the series so far since he's obviously the most genre savvy of the lot. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if he spouted a reference to the Evil Overlord list at some point.

For an original-ish point, does anyone else think that Gwen is trying to play the long con with Dean in her continual insistence that she is being kept in the dark as to all the important plot points? I mean, it just seems too stereotypical that the woman would be out of the loop, and completely inconsistent with the way Mary was raised in the first place. I reckon she's eventually going to worm her way in to the duo and then betray them at a critical point, much like Ruby did in season 4.

Meh, it failed miserably once, no reason they couldn't pull that card out again. I think its easily within the realm of plausible for the writers to simply reach back to that list of five things Lucifer mentioned last season that the Colt can't kill and say that whatever being holds the title "King of Hell" is on the list.

There's also the question of whether Azazel (the Yellow Eyed Demon) was King of Hell or not. He was pretty much Lucifer's second-in-command, or at least his most faithful and influential follower. If he was, then the Colt would be the only weapon available to Sam and Dean to defeat Crowley, as he's already gotten hold of his old bones, and exorcizing him or sending him back to Hell is pointless.

I'm very much liking the way this season's going.

You're working based on the assumption that the writers feel like being consistent.

    They don't.

No, but since we're not privy to the inner workings of the writers' minds, it makes more sense to expand on what we already know, rather than come up with wild claims without any substantiation.

Besides, the Colt has been too large a plot piece for too long not to be at least be attempted. It, along with the knife, is one of the only things that can truly kill a demon that are directly available to Sam and Dean, i.e. outside of beings like Angels helping them out.

The whole Purgatory idea can be tied to John and Mary not being in Heaven. John most likely isn't in Hell, as he's been shown to have escaped and gone someplace else at the end of Season 2. Mary's fate is more questionable, having been a spirit protecting the old Winchester house for a time, before disappearing in the Season 1 episode "Home". Neither she, nor John, are in Heaven, at least to Ash's knowledge, and haven't made any reappearances outside of time-travel/flashback scenes.

tl;dr, As I said in my previous post, with all the stuff from previous seasons for the writers to build on, I'm pretty fucking excited about the rest of the season, with the way this newest episode turned out.

Edit: And yeah, I agree. Gwen's going to be a slippery bitch some day.

Am I the only one that thinks the writers may be racist?

Still I like the alpha vampire, I hope he returns.

Seems to be a strong preference for white bad guys, actually.
I'm thinking specifically about the YED, Ruby, Lilith, Crowley...
Not to mention Zachariah, who I hate the way I hate snakes.

Pretty even distribution of genders, though.

Just another really good reason to neuter your dog. Because if it's willing to go through that, it's probably a real dog.

Also, next episode seems to be hilarious.

Yeah, seeing a dog is going to be weird from now on, really liked the premise behind this. Although

I really doubt that they nailed an Alpha. They probably just got the the highest ranking of that particular pack. Seeing Dean and Sam hit leaping dogs right through their hearts was pretty fun to watch though.

Solid Episode. Especially Crowley at the beginning.
