Someone's been reading too much srs bsns fanfiction. Canon Harry Potter has tons of subtle humor. It's nice when they add it in the movies to parts that seem otherwise unremarkable in the books. Like, everyone remembers this clip.; you gotta admit, it was pretty amusing :awesome

 

I really can't stand the Magic in these films, at all. Suddenly everybody's a non-verbal casting genius, every spell's damned near invisible & ripples when it hits you like a puddle.

It's pathetic... The other thing that angered me aboue that scene is Lucius getting owned, twice. I'm sorry, but I consider him to be at least capable of landing a spell on 2 Novices, near enough.

 

There's literally nothing to indicate that Lucius Malfoy is a talented wizard. From his introduction into the series, he's been portrayed as the money, not the muscle.

 

True, I guess fan-fiction has led me astray to that, but still, I'd like to think Death Eaters in the Inner-Circle are at least semi-capable of duelling 2 teenagers, despite them probably being within the Inner Circle because of other talents or resources, eg, Malfoy for his money, Bellatrix for being Bat-shit insane, etc.

 

I'd think that, too - especially because I'd want to be able to kick the shit out of everyone who laughed at the inherent douchebaggery associated with drawing a wand from a pimp-cane.

 

It's just how he styles on his hoes, Blaise. They respect a man whose wand can slap them around and look like something from the set of a Snoop Dogg video.

 

I am not able to look at Lucius like how i saw him in CoS( a bad guy that could decimate you fifty ways to next month with brutal efficiency. ) With what i saw...it saddens me.
