A great Fiction. I just hope it's not Abandoned.

 

10 out of 5. This shit is fucking amazing.

 

Gone quite over-the-top the moment the prologue ended. The melodrama was always present but I'd assumed the writer was capable of reining it in. Evidently not.

Well, whatever. Good run, still an entertaining read with a chance of going completely sour if the writer isn't careful.

Edit: I found the chapter slightly bland, but well written enough. His relationship with Tonks is engaging, and made the chapter decent. Could have hoped for slightly more after the wait.

 

I appreciate such posts - I wouldn't have looked at the fic otherwise and he can always edit his post later with his review.

Perhaps if your going for a disturbing angle in this story. If that's what the author is going for, then I'm cool. Just seems weird that Tonks is at least 19 and Harry is only 14.

 

This is true. Then again, Harry is kinda mature for his age, though he expresses himself rather violently. I mean, you grow up pretty fast in those environments.

 

You know, Ike Broflovski was very mature for his age too.

 

To be fair, this wouldn't even be an issue in the real world. How many times do you see celebrities dating older women and not bat an eye at it in real life? Look at all the old ladies after Bieber.

Yes it would be an issue in the real world. We're not talking about a 29 and 24 year old hooking up. We're talking about a 14 year old potentially dating a 19 year old.

 

When Emma Watson was like 16 or 17 wasn't she dating a 27 year old or something like that? I'm pretty sure Miley Cyrus dated some older guy in her teens as well. I've known freshmen in high school who date 19/20 year old people, and they only just turned 15.

 

I reread this story, and like last time, I am still wondering why Harry hates Dumbledore so much and think he is controling. Dumbledore has no reason to be anything to Harry other than a headmaster, so it stands to be that Harry is just on the shits because Dumbledore left him at the Dursleys. His only family left.

Sounds like a rather shit excuse considering the hate we've seen directed at Dumbledore. While if he was the BWL we can maybe get into it that he would check on Harry to make sure he was fine, now however, he is just an orphan which considering the war there were plenty of.

 

While we don't exactly know about the Dursley's treatment of Harry in this fic, even their canon behavior would be enough of a reason to hate Dumbledore.

But, if I remember correctly, Harry blames him for Ginny's death, which isn't entirely unreasonable considering he's Albus-fucking-Dumbledore.

Anyway, I was beyond joyful this story, I tagged as abandoned, got updated.

Harry here is a bit young, and I always wondered where exactly he learned all those evil spells (that's nitpicking a but I know), but his courting of Ginny and her subsequent death really set the stage.

But despite my fondness for the fic I must ask myself a question. What the hell is with all those women?! Three totally different females, only one of which plays an active role in Harry's current life. I think that's a bit much. It seems like the author couldn't decide and combines ideas as they come.

That said I don't get it that people react adversely to Tonks making a move on Harry. He is quite mature I think, and she is shaken by her training and all that has happened. She is what, 19? that's a difference of 7 years? Not much. I think the problem people raise can be construed as a bit sexist. That she is an old girl trying to corrupt a very young boy. If I recall, in my High School class a girl (16) dated a 22-23 yo, and it didn't raise an eyebrow. My male cousin 29 dated a 19 yo girl and again it didn't cause a scandal.

I'm scared to imagine the level of backwardness some people that post here must endure.
