BBC's take on a superhero show

A group of kids doing community service get struck by lightning during a storm, and begin to develop superpowers.

The second season just started airing, the humor in this show is hilarious. It's way different than any other superhero show out there now, instead of trying to save the world they realize what a pain in the ass it is to have unwanted powers.

The blond character is kinda hard to understand with her heavy cockney accent, you might need subtitles for her parts

I'll give you fifty buck if Nathan doesn't make you laugh your ass off

Despite my initial misgivings (especially since you neglected to include some linkage), this show's actually proving itself to be entertaining.

Hell, I'll even go as far as to say I'm liking it. A lot.

The powers are pretty standard - your obligatory fare of mind-readers, time-travelers, and invisible kids - only the characters are actually interesting. It's like a superior, British form of Heroes that focuses on the characters' lives and the changes wrought in them rather than some ridiculous plot about an exploding man or some immortal blonde samurai.

    In short, it's pretty good.

    Hooooooold up.

Firstly, E4, not BBC, which is a good thing because BBC cannot hit the 16-25 year old age bracket worth a damn. Secondly, she doesn't have a cockney accent, it's northern. Thirdly this is the single worst intro for an incredible show ever.

Seriously, take my word for it, if you've any interest in comics, superheroes or laughing your tits off, watch this. It combines pretty decent acting with a clever idea and genius writing to produce probably one of the funniest off-beat comedies in years.

Not only is it a clever insight into the shitty chav culture that has blight the UK recently, but also a clever subversion of the superhero genre.

Also, I'll concede that Nathan is the best part in that show and the funniest motherfucker I think I've ever seen on TV.

Just saw the first episode. It was AWESOME xD. Nathan is funny as hell, also the line " These things only happen in America " had me laughing so hard. The black chicks superpower seems kind of useless though.

    Also, what's a chav?

The guy who gets axed at the beginning, the girl that apparently nobody except I can actually understand; chavs.

For anyone who's a huge fan of Nathan (ie, everyone), he and Rupert Grint both play almost identical roles as love rivals in the film Cherrybomb, which is amazing and no where near as terrible as all the synopsis makes out.

Watched it since it came out and it's awesome. It's like Skins except funny and not depressingly annoying.

Robert Sheehan was in college for a brief period with a friend of mine who swears the guy was an absolute dick. I couldn't care less. Nathan is a fucking hilarious character.

Also, psycho Simon looks like that guy from Gavin and Stacy.

Thanks for the rec, probably never would have noticed it or bothered watching it without this thread. Nathan is hilarious, but there isn't a doubt that in real life I'd think he was a dick and just annoying.

Otherwise, it's a nice show to watch, though I hate the six episode seasons.

Shit, after the third probation workers death, I know what job I'm scared of getting. "Can we please stop killing our probation workers".

I jumped on the bandwagon a few days back, and it's been an awesome ride. Just watched the newest episode (Season 2, episode 3). I'm liking how things are shaping up, especially with...

SuperHoodie's real identity and all the stuff that comes with it. This episode overall was good fun - Gay!Nathan was hysterical and Simon's ascent into badassery is shaping up something great. Love the newest probation worker guy. Not sure how I felt about Kelly's random "Just mates" thing to Nathan. It could either be the fact he's still, you know, Nathan, he's immortal or what, but who knows at this point.

So yeah, awesome series. Nathan is the motherfucking man.

EDIT: Changed my Nates to Nathans 'cause Seratin complained. Don't really know why I shortened it or why it's a big deal, but whatevs.

It sounds fucking weird, but I knew SuperHoodie was Simon from the future. I'm assuming he took powers from all of the Misfits when they died along with a whole bunch of other peoples (he can touch SuperSlut, travel backward in time, the free-running might not be a power but that thrown paper aeroplane?) I love what a BAMF he turns into but I can't shake the idea out of my head that his intentions aren't 100% pure. Perhaps it was how he killed the second probation worker, but I just think he'd make such an amazing villain.

Just started watching the series - the lightning effect was cheesy as hell though. XD

Tbh, I didn't see Simon as superhoodie at all so that was a twist. Superslut barely questioned it before jumping in the sack with him.On one hand that annoyed me but on the other hand, she's superslut. Agreed with nmb that Simon would make a fucking awesome villain.

Also, Mattsilver. Please please stop referring to Nathan as Nate. :/

One thing I don't understand is why the hell Simon isn't turning invisible when he's following the group, and then just turning visible whenever he needs to show himself. Kind of defeats the purpose of remaining in stealth when your doing flips and showing off on rooftops for everyone to see. I don't really see Simon being a bad guy though. Even from the start, when these people were treating him like shit, he's remained loyal. I can't really imagine anything turning him from that.

Shit just got real. If you freeze frame the scenes in his eyes as Curtis is jumping back from the future, you get some spoilers. :)

This is officially way better than Heroes.

Oh wow. Yesterday's episode was beyond epic.

They had to deal with a guy thinking he is playing a computer game like GTA...

"That's what happens when blokes spend all their time playin computer games and wankin over porn on the internet."

    Superhoodie!Simon ended kinda lame though.

"Uh, why are you hanging from meathooks?"

I lol'd. Overall, an excellent episode but there hardly seems to be a bad one this season. Next episode promises to be great too. "I think she murdered me!"
