What are some games on the Wii that people would consider as must-haves or are just really fun? I just got a Wii and I'm trying to figure out games to pick up.

I know the basic staples are:

SSBros Brawl
Mario Kart


Some I'm considering picking up are:

Phantom Brave
Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Epic Mickey


And that's all I really have in mind. Any good ones I should add to the list?

I'm more interested in Fighting, RPGs, and Strategy games. Online is good ot have, if there is any.

 

If you enjoy platformers, Sonic Colors.

The only fighting games on Wii that I'm aware of (other than Brawl) are Guilty Gear Accent Core and Tatsunoko vs Capcom. I can't say anything about their quality, though.

I can't say I know much else. The Wii has a pretty severe dearth of games, from my personal experience. Maybe you'll find some good titles in WiiWare?

 

Well I hear good things about Super Mario Galaxy but if you really want to play the wii you should have the essential piece of equipment. A vagina.

 

I would suggest Twilight Princess. It is quite easy, but it still is entertaining. I've heard Monster Hunter Tri is good, but I haven't played that.

Don't get Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. Got it because I enjoyed the first, but this one sucked.

 

The Wii has good games other games than the one that came with it? O.O

 

New Super Mario Bros. But it MUST be played with other friends, preferably while drunk or high.

 

Had a blast with Super Mario Wii, especially in multiplayer mode. One of the few games I can play with my wife.

I thought Metroid Prime 3 was spectacular, even if it took me a while to get used to the controls.

 

I remember Mario and Sonic at the Olympics being good for a drunken laugh with friends, but it's been a while since I played it.

 

Monster Hunter Tri is really fun and it has online play as well. There is a very violent Mario soccer game out there I can't remember the name of that was very fun as well. Galaxy and Metroid are good, too.

 

Mario Strikers Charged?

Yeah, I played the Gamecube version a lot way back when. Or, you know... a few years ago.

I just picked up House of the Dead: Overkill box set. Comes with two hand cannon gun holders. I haven't played it too much at the moment but what I did play was enjoyable in your typical zombie shooter sense. It has the old school arcade feel to it which is nice. Just love having the option to shoot up stuff without having to really think. Great game to pass some spare time with or just to unwind to.

 

Wife gave me Boom Blox last year for Xmas. Not a huge seller, but I can't figure out why - the whole game is throwing shit that blows up or knocks things over. I love it - very satisfying on a visceral level.

I bought my wii just so I could download classics. Now I don't play at all, I just use the web browser to read. D:

 

I've had some fun playing Tiger Woods Golf on it with a group of friends. It can be very frustrating though since sometimes it doesn't register the stroke properly. That being said, I don't own a Wii so I don't know if the novelty wears off quickly.

 

Donkey Kong Country Returns is absolutely amazing. I split the bill with my girlfriend (she has a Wii, whereas I have a Playstation) and we're on the fourth stage about thirty levels in. You wont find much in the way of story or even any talking characters (with the exception of Cranky, whose lines are pretty mundane and are only text), but the side-scrolling play and beautiful active backgrounds make it a lot of fun to play, especially if you're a fan of two-player cooperative games.

Also, on 12/12 Super Mario All Stars 25th Anniversary comes out, so that might be another new game you'd be interested in.

 

Naruto is the best fighter for the wii that I'm aware of although now I know about it I will have no choice but to get Guilty Gear.

Overlord is good, though too short. anyone know what platform the sequals are on?

Jungle Beat is not bad either.
