DLP Pokemon League? So awesome.

Any chance we can include a double battle leader? (Because I have an awesome, if extremely unvaried team for the job)

I'm really tempted to make some custom badges so winners can put them in their sigs. Burning house for fire, thunderbolt scar for electric, snozlax for normal... heh.

 

Y'know, snoclepsydrax doesn't really fit any more. :|

 

We were thinking of making banners or badges on irc earlier. Before you do it though, there is only one rule. The flood badge must be the most awesome.

Also, a few questions:

1) Is there any order to the gyms, or can we challenge in whichever order we like?

2) Can you rearrange pokemon in your team between battles so that you don't end up with, say, a fire type starter against the water gym?

3) Will the gym leaders be publishing their pokemon lists (not moves/items/etc.) before battle, as would be fitting the fluff of these being 'famous' pokemon masters, or are we leaving it as a surprise?

4) What do we get for winning?

1) You can challenge in whatever order you want. If you lose to a leader you can't challenge him/her again for 24 hours. At least that's how we're doing it atm.

2) Yes you can do that. (Clarification: You have to keep the same 6 pokemon but it doesn't matter what order. What Pal quoted was me saying that you can't change the six pokemon. Otherwise, if you went up against me it'd be "LOL GRASS/ELECTRICERRYWHERE" and if you went up against Ozzywaddles it'd be "LOL PUNCHES ERRYWHERE.")

3) Gym leaders don't have to have set teams. As long their team has at least 5 pokemon of their chosen type they can do whatever they want.

4) I've talked to Raven about making a little badge similar to that of the donar star. He said he's up for that. Feel free to suggest other prizes though.

I have no idea what I'm doing to be honest. Never done competitive battling before, so I did a bit of reading and made a team (which is more than likely shite). Joined a random server on the Pokemone Online program, found a battle and I had to use a random team. Couldn't figure out out use my own team, and I don't know how to get onto the #pokemanz channel Vash mentioned from the IRC. Can anyone write an idiot proof explanation of the whole thing?

 

So will the champion be the person who last challenged and won?

Get that far and we'll explain it from there.

EDIT: Yeah, first person to beat the league becomes champion. After that, any other challengers will have to beat the league and the champion if they want to be crowned Champ.

Kalas and I had our battle. It was a close one, but an eleventh hour Breloom Vs Breloom was up at the end - mine was faster. We had a second one shortly afterwards, just for fun, and I won that too.

My badge? The Thorn Badge. Simple enough. Sums things up well.

EDIT: Congrats to Red, Vira and Kaidash for their wins. Kang and Torak, try again tomorrow.

 

I've challenged and beaten Poytin and Matt. Two down.

I'm using the team in my sig.

 

After a few loses to get back up to par. I began my official League journey by challenging and defeating Poytin. Broken crits is broken. :awesome

 

Just this evening I got my first two badges from Matt and Poytin with the help of flinch-hax and my Rotom respectively. Hopefully there will be many more badges in my future.

 

I have to re-download PO. Other than that I am so in this.
