Taking a break from exam study (which I'm scared shitless for, as is my way), and figured I'd watch a show and head on back to studying. Except.... I've watched all my shows, and most of the rest I've rewatched or don't feel like rewatching. Well, besides the Gundam recs I got, which I'm saving for a marathon time after exams are over.

So... recommend me: what current or previous television series is in your opinion must see television. To prevent unhelpful posts, here is the stuff I've watched and finished or watching and not wishing to return to at the moment:

    Psych
    The Shield
    Burn Notice
    How I Met your Mother
    Community
    Numb3rs
    Top Gear
    Monk
    Friends
    The Walking Dead
    Dexter
    Stargate: SG1
    Stargate: Atlantis
    Stargate: Universe
    Firefly
    Doctor Who
    Misfits
    Supernatural
    Chuck
    Sons of Anarchy
    Smallville
    Diary of a Secret Call-girl

    TNA Impact & Xplosion
    Naruto
    ThunderCats
    Gargoyles
    Mighty Ducks
    Static Shock
    Kim Possible
    Danny Phantom
    American Dragon
    Megas XLR
    Justice League
    Justice League Unlimited
    Samurai Jack
    Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Superheroes
    Ben 10
    Batman: The Animated Series
    Superman: The Animated Series
    Batman Beyond
    Storm Hawks
    Brimstone

Blue Mountain State. A show about college football stars drinking and having sex every night. It's funny as hell.

Most of what I would suggest has already been done. Only one left is Prison Break I guess.

If we're branching out in to non-Drama territory.

Masterchef, and Masterchef Professionals. It's the only TV cooking competition I've seen where the contestants are actually cooking food that's good enough to sit in Michelin starred restaurants.

Never Mind the Buzzcocks (the episodes with Simon Amstel as the host).

    Mock the Week.

    Live at the Apollo.

Only Pers has mentioned it thus far, but The Wire is the best thing that's ever been on TV.

As a short series, Pillars of the Earth was alright. Nothing on the book, but alright.

I'll second The Wire. And third it, if I have to.

    Also:
    Big Bang Theory
DS9 (at least season 3 onward)

Another vote for The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. Bruce Campbell is second only to Chuck Norris and Neil Patrick Harris on the Scale of Awesome.

I recommend this, probably the most realsitic star trek has ever been. Oh the creative director/everything on BSG was the writer on this.

Recommendations based on shows you've seen:

Boston Legal - Has the same wacky feeling to it, but is much, much better.

Law&Order - It's pretty hard to watch the whole series (with it being 19+ seasons long, not including daughters-series), but every episode is an excellent standalone.

Numbe3s - Pretty good, about the same quality or maybe a bit better than Criminal Minds

How I Met Your Mother - Seriously? Nobody mentioned this? This is the best sitcom since Seinfeld with ease.

Community - Well, maybe How I met Your Mother has some rivals. This is a MUST SEE show.

The Big Band Theory - Not as great as the aforementioned shows, but still very funny.

    Breaking Bad.

Don't let the fact that it's about cooking meth turn you off-- It is bar none the best show on television right now.
