I was browsing around the Paradox Entertainment forums and noticed a new one had popped up, so I checked it out and found this.

It's a 4 player co-op fantasy rpg that has a dynamic spell system (i.e. you create your own spells by combining elements) and what looks to be a fairly good world. It's made by a Swedish games company called Arrowhead Game Studios and is apparently their first project (actually the company was built around the game so I suppose it would be better to say this is the project's first company ), who are affiliates of Paradox and are thus associated with awesome.

Have a look at the trailer and tell me what you think, because I think this looks pretty damn cool.

 

Looks like Diablo 3 to be honest. Still, it does look nice and I can't wait to send my friends flying from bridges with 'misscast' spells.

Although I don't understand how a game yet in developement is able to win an award of 'best game of the year'.

Hmm as it looks now it seems its an console oriented game where as I am more of a pc oriented player.

I hope it will be available for the pc too but I wouldn't cry over it if it wasn't.

Yes on some levels it does.

Going by its name it will probably only have mages so not very much diversity there but they make it up with the spell casting system.

I'm going to keep an eye on this game see where it goes.

 

It looks Gimmicky and fun to me; A cross between GeneForge and Diablo. It's obvious the developers have played enough video games to see what we want. I'm slightly afraid of the game having poor balance however, but we'll find out. I'll watch out for this game in the future.

 

So ummm. after a couple months worth of delays, its coming out this monday!

Who else might be interested in playing this? 9.99 is the price for this.

I'm surprised I didn't hear of it before, only three days from release. Paradox has made quite a few good games, though my favorite ones are the grand strategy ones. EUIII, HOI series, Victoria I and II, Crusader Kings and so on.

Have to be pretty awesome to make up for 90's graphics and gameplay =/ Probably will get it for the kids and coop some

Meteor shower is beyond awesome. the puff symbol is steam (fire+water).

Fire, Earth, (Fire+Water), Earth, Fire -> Space bar

 

Bought it yesterday, been trying out two-player co-op with a friend. Some of the combinations are pretty extravagant.

Dvorak and Sol up for creating a four player DLP co-op? Playing it with random folks doesn't last long as most leave after a bit. We'd have four if Aekiel joins up as well.

 

The more the merrier(2 of my gaming buddies bought this yesterday) I'm kinda busy today+tomorrow but I should be able to play games this weekend. I'll be rotating between Magicka, Rift beta, Greedcorp, and League of Legends.

Downloading the demo to see if it's worth it. My wallet is still feeling the after effects from the holiday sales, so I rather make sure first. If it's as awesome as it sounds, I'll buy it tonight.

Soloing this game sounds awfully hard too. Anyway, buying it now. If you guys want to get together and go prance around in the florest, lemme know! My Steam is usualy open.

Edit: I tried everything and I can't get my hands on that book by the bridge, right in the start.

 

You get the book later in the game. Only way you can get it at level 1 is if you glitch it in multiplayer where the bounce physics are different.

Did you get the grease book across that river?

 

Yep... Game is confusing as hell on multiplayer. I think I killed the people with me more than the monsters did =D

By the way, anyone getting random crashes?
