I keep getting a bad vibe from their portrayals, so I keep expecting something to go south.

But agreed; unexpected and good. Just...waiting for the other shoe to drop.

 

They've tried to do this before, so I think we can rule out them not knowing something about the process.

 

I'm really curious of how they will accomplish, giving back Ichigo his shinigami powers hmm...

New Bleach chapter is up.

This chapter was ... strange. The fact that the first half of it is pretty much padding doesn't help matters.

 

The padding part was better than the latter. This whole fullbring thing is annoying as fuck. Ichigo pretends to be pissed, those guys pretend to be ultra cool, next chapter: Ichigo pretends to be pissed, those guys pretend to be ultra cool, ad nauseum.

And the new chick is just irritating as shit.

At this point I'd rather see his sister kicking ass instead of Ichigo.

 

I'm conflicted. I want to hate this chapter but I can't.

If Ichigo was being forced to learn/use full bring as a method of knocking him off of the god-tier, it'd be kind of cool. But inevitably (if it doesn't get forgotten about entirely) it's just going to end up as part of his power smorgasbord.

Also, Yuzu's TsunTsun is approaching critical levels.

Yeah, I really hate Riruka. That kind of character always annoys me, but damn did Kishi ever manage to make it worse than usual.

 

Yeah, the only reason I really object to the padding at all is that I wanted the story to move forward a bit more since it's been moving slowly and we had a one-week hiatus. Two weeks ago, Ichigo was about to start the regaining his powers training; this week, he is still about to start his training. Even if his little sisters are doing nice cute scenes, it's still slowing down a plot that is already moving slowly.

Let's just hope Kubo doesn't drag this arc out for far too long.

I've never understood why the uber-bitch is such a popular character in Japan. It's like authors are trying to create a tsundere, but halfway through they forget that the reason tsunderes work as characters is that they have positive qualities that offset and diminish the bitchiness.

 

Not sure if this has been brought up yet, but is anyone else getting incest vibes from Yuzu? Or is that my twisted mind playing tricks on me?

But yeah, I hate how Kubo takes up an entire page with 2 giant panels. It's like he tries to draw as big as he can so he doesn't have to draw as much on a single page.

 

I think that's more innocent than it appears, but it's hard to say given Japan and the way Isshin acts half the time.

 

I still don't think that Kubo's drawing style fits for female faces, but the Karakura girls sure have grown nicely.

Yeah, I didn't like Ichigo being pissed very much either. What's his problem again?

I really just want to see them sacrifice their lives so that Ichigo can gain power. Don't really care for any of them. Even the tsundere chick is just yet another bitchy female in the series. Just more screwed up than usual.

Edit: And the new Bleach is up! It continues in the vein of unreasonable training methods. Kinda boring, though I've started to like the bitch-woman's face.
