Personally, I like the "new posts" link. It shows what I haven't read, clearly shows the thread's subforum (except for For Review which is the same for HP and Other Fandoms) and works for the whole forum. I just wish there was a way to RSS that.

Well, I may be looking forward to the DoM after his 5th year more than the 4th year tournament. I can see him rushing in to save his retarded brother and co. Showing his far superior dueling skills against the DEs.

 

I think there'll be a divergence prior to that that might prevent Voldemort from returning at the end of fourth year. Thus DoM becomes irrelevant.

 

I think we will see more changes from canon in 4th year (if Harry will be at Hogwart), but I doubt it will prevent return of Voldemort. Without him there is nothing interesting in 5th year and it would just mean that we must wait longer for some real action to begin.

 

I don't really see a reason for Santi to conform to canon as it isn't even a major part of the plot until Voldemort returns. I suppose you could make the argument that it should be kept the same for that reason, but you can always bring him back later (or differently).

 

I've been wondering how much time Harry would actually spend at Hogwarts... after all it's his OWL year for most of his other subjects and I imagine that he would want to continue his studies with some of his favourite professors. Other than Karkaroff, I don't think that JKR mentions any other teachers from Durmstrang. We see Victor around Hogwarts quite a bit, but I have to wonder how The Santi will handle it. At a school where students are driven to excel, taking a 'soft' year studying with less resources/instruction just to see the Triwizard seems a bit counter-intuitive. Maybe some kind of portal on the ship (like in 'Prince of the Dark Kingdom')

H I would think that he'd be conflicted on who to help - his friend or his brother (who has already snubbed his aid).

 

In addition to that: Harry going to Durmstrang was Voldemort's plan from the very beginning. It will be disappointing if we don't see Voldemort return and try to capitalise on its fruition.

Voldemort's resurrection will lead to Quirrel's true identity being revealed as well as the Dumbledore-suggested plan by the rest of the Potter's to keep the secret from Harry. If Harry wasn't already growing distant from the rest of the Potter family, then that will really kick it into gear.

Yeah, maybe. I don't see why The Santi would delay his return though. If I was a betting man, I'd say that the Tournament will play out differently than canon, if it happens at all, but that Voldemort will be resurrected at around the same time and in the same manner anyway.
