Yeah, I recently watched (almost) all of Zero Punctuation. I don't think I've ever laughed at a series so consistently. The Minecraft one was particularly good.

In other news, I've recently started a massive operation to create a Darkroom Spawn Trap, which means that I'll have to clear out every cave in a 150x150 area.

See everyone in two weeks. lol

If your mouse supports macros (and even if it doesn't, there might be a way to mind a mouse button to a macro), I suggest recording one like this:

I have my pick in slot 1 and my torches in slot 9, so this will place a torch pretty much without moving from my pick. (The way I recorded the macro, there isn't any delay between each step - and Minecraft apparently doesn't have any delay from mouse input - so it works like a charm.) Fucking awesome.

Hmm, interesting idea, but I can't help but feel that it undermines the entire reason I play Minecraft. If I wanted to be perfectly efficient, my house would be an uninteresting cobblestone blob instead of a lovingly crafted lakeside wood cabin.

Also, if I'm reading it correctly, you'd have to have your Item Slot One equipped for it to work, right? I can picture that ending very poorly for me. Like say, having it on 5 and then accidentally placing Obsidium. Is it not possible to simply record pressing 9, placing it, and then 1?

On this note, the game doesn't like text based macros with no delays. I need to try to make some with delays and see if that fixes the problem.

I figure I'll go back to doing it the old way after I get over the high of a new mouse...

Yes, you probably could record it pressing the button for your torches, right clicking, pressing the button you want to go back to and be done with it. I'm a creature of habit, so my torches and my pick are always in the same slots.

    Edit:

After trying to join the server, Minecraft locked up and then popped up a blue screen with this in it. I don't know shit about Java, so here's hoping someone can help me figure out why this happens every time I try to connect.

I could send it to support@mojang.com, but from what I've heard they don't ever reply.

Try deleting your minecraft folder and re downloading the files. Thats the only thing I know to suggest. I got that error once, and I did that and everything ran fine. It could be an issue with a texture pack or mod that you're having, if you run any.

Also, make sure you're using the most recent versions of java. I think you're using Java 7 beta like I am, and I've had no problems with it yet. I can also connect to the server so I don't think its on Vash's end.

I'm using a texture pack of my own concoction (read: default with clear glass, red clay, and golden wheat).

I'll try deleting the bin folder and stuff. See if that fixes it.

Edit: Deleted the bin folder, no change. Deleted the whole .minecraft folder...No change. FML.

I'm uninstalling Java 7 beta...see if that fixes it.

    Force update of Java?

Uninstalling Java 7 worked, so I'll just stick with that for now.

    I don't have it either. O.O I just re-downloaded Minecraft.exe from the website, and I still don't have one.

On another note, I ran out of Glowstone halfway through building my house. FFFFFFFUUUU!

I'm giving this a try. Lutris was awesome enough to give me a grand tour of the server world (water slide :awesome). Unfortunately, I was killed by a bush monster five minuted after he left and I can't find the spot I was going to build my house on >_>

My only problem is that my laptop blows and I'm getting a slight lag. It was real bad before I messed with the controls, but it's still annoying.

Bumping with some pics of a cabin I just started.

    And from the front:

I'd say it's about half done. Still have to do the interior and a bunch of landscaping. Ignore the dirt; I'd just finished tearing down a massive hill and rebuilding it to my liking.

All in all, I'm a little proud of it. This started off as mostly freehand, though it's similar to many of my other designs. I only wish that I'd not made it quite so long, with a bit more width. Oh well, I'll perfect it next time.

Edited for thumbnails due to size.
