Can't remember title or author, but if memory serves me it was an independent harry that started almost every fanfic cliche. Good for its time and really popular years back it's just been so long that I cant remember the details(most likely over 5 years ago).

That's a very old fic, especially since it was published in 69. Funny that a HP fanfic predates the first novel by almost three decades.

    Edit: 700 posts!

If I recall correctly, an Administrator at FF.Net deleted it once due to false complaints (or maybe just on accident). When they tried to restore the story along with all the reviews it had, something glitched out and the published year became 69.

Ironic for a story called "The power of time."

    You know what?
    You are a fucking asshole.

You stroll into the forum as a total noob, open this thread without a single piece of REAL (content) information given, don't even think of asking DLP in a friendly tone....

You are everything that is wrong with humanity.

I have a permanent solution for your problems though, please consider it:

Well that was a proportionate response to OP...

Sc88, you'll need to be a lot more specific, I mean you can't honestly expect people to just try and guess what your thinking. Even the assertion that the fic may have been the one that spawned most Independent!Harry fics isn't particularity useful. Instead, go and read The Boy Who Lived by The Santi, anything by Enembee and then join the DLP C2. Once you've done those things you'll have forgotten all about this fic you're looking far and find a wealth of far better work to enjoy.

See what others have said regarding lack of specificity. A few early, influential stories, just in case one randomly hits what you want:

Rosswrock's fic (2001), as mentioned, was one of the early, influential stories. Another is Full Pensieve's Harry Potter and the Years of Rebellion (2001), whose earliest version predated Ross's; it's a better story, but unfortunately the author's debilitating illness prevented its completion. Another two early stories employing elements of Indy!Harry are Cygnus Crux's Existence After Life and sequels (2002) and Ruskbyte's The Order of the Phoenix (2002).

God I loved that fic. He had his nephew post many of his notes for the remainder of the fic, and while it meets a lot of the checklist criteria for cliched fics, it was groundbreaking at the time and his OCs were some of the most interesting and well-fleshed-out that I've ever, ever seen.

Hope he's doing well, and he actually finished his equally kickass but lots darker and shorter story, named "HP and the Last Horcrux". Another of my all-time favorites.

It's obvious the timestamp became -1 unix time, meaning one second before the epoch (1970-01-01 00:00). 32 bit unix timestamps are the cause of the very serious Year 2038 problem.

Perspicacity, thank you, I remember reading all those fics when they were new and now I am reminded that I'm old.
