Even though lightning may be uninspired, you have to give Kishimoto some mad props for having the black dude use the 'Black Panther' technique.

You guys are totally right though, Kishi has hamstrung himself with introducing so many fight scenes. He already had the regular shinobi outnumbered, he really didn't need to have so many resurrections. It makes for a couple of cool scenes, but it would have been way cooler if there had only been around nine or so with longer, focused, intense action rather than a line of dialog, one panel of jumping then swapping to the next battle.

The whole Daimyo thing is a little ridiculous. Its the big finale of this giant destructive ninja battle, and we're cutting to shitty humour with old dudes. Threw me off pretty bad.

 

No, but i do think that they were both apart of the team that killed Tobirama Senju. The Kinkaku killed the second when he opted as bait to allow for the third to escape, so im guessing that the hit squad got its name from one of the two brothers who quite possibly lead it.

At least that explains the whisker thing. All three characters with whiskers were exposed to Kyuubi's chakra for extended periods of time. The brothers were irradiated with it for two weeks while beating the crap out of Kyuubi's small intestine, and Naruto gestated inside of a veritable tanning-booth of Kyuubi chakra. Kushina didn't have them, no, but she was never exposed to a high-yield extended-period dosage of it, either.

Also, Banana Fan = more shoutouts to classical Japanese literature. Journey to the West again, this time.

I doubt Naruto will get the Rinnengan. I've heard those theories before. But after listening to the Raikage talk about those tools, I get the feeling Naruto might score those at some point. They're almost designed to be used by him. They're associated with the sage, for one, which Naruto now is as well with his energy-Buddha form. They're also associated with Kyuubi, considering what the brothers are and how they use them. They can only be used by someone with monstrous reserves of chakra, which Naruto has had from day one, and which has now only gotten more ridiculous since he ate two third's of Kyuubi's chakra. And you need a lot of hands to hold all the tools at once and use them properly, which Naruto has covered with Kage Bunshin.

 

I'm curious, by the time of the second Hokage, wasn't the nine-tails sealed inside Mito Uzumaki ?

Hashirama sealed the nine tails after the valley of the end within the wife Mito Uzumaki, from there it was passed down to Kushina.

 

Why a plot hole? They could be swallowed by the Fox before Hashirama sealed him in his wife. I don't see anything saying that it happened when Tobirama was the second Hokage.

 

Its not neccesarily a plot hole. It says during their time they tried to capture the nine tails. When they tried to stage a coup could have been years later. Have to remember the 3rd hokage was hokage for far longer than the first, second, or fourth. Ive always been under the impression that the first and second hokage were not hokage for all that long. So it is entirely possible that they tried to capture the nine tails 10 or 15 years before the peace treaty where they attacked the kages.

Kishimoto killed off Samui?!? What the hell? Stop killing off every awesome female character in the series. I'm surprised Temari is still alive.

I swear, the only way he can make the series worse is if it turns out Sasuke was always a girl under fuinjutsu, and decides to fall in love and make babies with Naruto.

I think it's pretty clear that she and Atsui will be released. This doesn't have the finality of Itachi's jutsu. That, and Samui got sucked up outside of the proscribed rules of the gourd so I think in the end Darui will have to unravel the gimmick and undo the damage.

And now I'm wondering who Naruto will show up to curbstomp first. I was thinking that it would be the four ex-Kage since Konoha isn't represented there and the :awesome factor would be awesome, but now I'm thinking that Gin-Kin would be equally lulzy.

This is what I think will happen. When they show up and start beating the shit out of everyone in sight Naruto will have to appear. I wouldnt mind seeing him face the two cloud brothers though.

Have to agree with Howdy on Samui; it definitely seems more like she was temporarily disabled than outright killed. That's not to mention that, this being Naruto, it is practically impossible for a named character to die without having any backstory-related flashbacks first.

Also, let's hope Naruto doesn't run into the twins while they still have their rope/gourd trick available, because otherwise he would be completely screwed the first time he finishes a sentence. That's the downside of having a verbal tic...

By the by, it might bear mentioning that the anime is done with its latest bout of fillers, and is back on track.

 

And it's the episode where Naruto gets the crap beaten out of him by Cloud ninja. Do not need.

 

True, getting rid of fillers is only a good thing when the main story line you're going back to represents a significant improvement.
