I'll join up, just found the greatest map ever. Its the current version of DotA with -OMG mode. -omg was an idea in the dota forums that never got done, random abilities on heroes. Friken insane. You have not played until you've meathooked and then light strike arrayed someone, as storm spirit.

Edit: I didn't feel like changing my comupter name so I'm Shaku on the hamchi server.

I play War3, but I mostly play tower defences and rpgs. I pretty much dislike Dota. My favorite map is final fantasy open rpg by undeadbudgie.

 

Are you guys still playing DOTA and whatnot? I would like to join but I have to admit that despite playing DOTA for over two years, I am still not that good at it.

 

I'm pretty sure most of us who used to play DotA have moved on to HoN.

 

Ok, so here's a massive bump. But, the SC2 thread has made me jealous of all the DLP'ers playing it. Anyone interested in playing some WC3? I've gotten back into playing it and am really enjoying it again. I wanted to get into SC2, but I miss the micro and heroes. If you're interested either reply here or send me a pm.

 

Play sc2 then you talk about micro. Warcraft 3 always had more of a "get you hero and smash people with it" feeling for me.

I would be up to some games however(I started playing it again last month). I only need to figure out why I can't log to battle.net anymore(They tell me I need more space in my HD. I still have 100gb left, go figures.)

 

I play SC2 at top diamond level and Warcraft 3 1v1s at a really shitty low level play - and I have to say, I disagree with you. SC2 has a much higher level of macro oriented play, but micro isn't higher in it.

WC3 does have an emphasis on heroes, but that's significant in that focus firing different units and kiting individually is incredibly important. And the hero micro is a good deal of fun when you start expanding your repetoire to include the various items. The heroes add a shitload of variety, even though there are a set few that are 'best'.

I'm a NE player personally, and I have to say, UD is fucking OP. That is all.

 

Nightspy: Run WC3 as administrator. I don't know why, but this works. I have to do the same thing. What server would you want to play on? As for micro, no >.< I suppose ideally at a top level then it would, but the fact is 1 unit means so much more in WC3 then SC2. Warcraft is the micro game, starcraft the macro game. At high levels of WC you will lose a game because you lost one or two units early on. Anyway, I'm practice_mage@USEast. But I can really play on whatever.

Zarent: Also, what server are you on? I play NE too, could probably help with UD a bit since I find them pretty easy to defeat as long as they aren't doing a garg harass (and even then it is beatable if it's a pain in the ass.)
