I wonder how long it will be before general discussion starts getting spammed with intros.

 

Wouldn't it be interesting to make an Introduction thread, much like the PYP one? New members wouldn't feel as obligated as before to introduce themselves - but the option would be available for those who wishes that.

It was the fault of those damn haikus.

 

Having a very active forum dedicated to introductions, with new introductions made every few days kinda implies you should introduce yourself when you want to stop lurking and contribute. At least, that's the feeling I got from the forum.

A simple thread where people can share introduce themselves briefly, simply say hello or whatever and not be judged because the only wrote three lines of text - why not?

But it wouldn't change the way intro's worked. You'd still have people demanding more info than just "Hey! I'm here!" and people bitching about idiots and the like.

But what I meant was "How is it closing introductions if we just make it all one single thread." If we're axing introductions, we should commit and get rid of them like we said. Not just swap to a "new" system that will literally be the exact same thing. Only with a fuck of a lot of clutter.
