DAMNIT OZ! I just crafted all of my spares into metal two days ago. D: I had been holding on to them for so long, I figured no one else really needed them.

I'll hold on to any that I get in drops.

On another note, my team won our first game and our second is scheduled for Friday. This shit is fun! Comp > Pub

 

This is why I am getting into comp play.

The first match with the Highlander team I'm on was kinda like this (except lower level play, of course). Both teams were pretty equally matched, and it was a lot of fun.

Meet the Medic was glorious.

Tried to play a match a minute ago. Had 180 ping and only got like 5 kills, but everything seems pretty awesome. It'll be nice when the servers calm down.

Also, Nyan Cat, because I just noticed it.

 

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned TF2 is free to play now.

The people who would buy it already have it. And now they massively increased the number of potential customers spending their money on... hats.

Though I still wonder why someone would buy a virtual hat that doesn't do anything.

Seeing as the few good servers I played on before were always full, fuck this update. Shit's never gonna calm down. And then the BRs will be all over the place. "Huhuhuhu, jajajaja"

Anyhow, theres a mod out that bans new accounts from joining your server but who knows how long will valve let it stick.

I was planning to get this for a while and now that it id free... Let's see how it goes.

 

I've been having a lot of fun with this update; there's so many new players that I'm breaking my stat records left and right.

In all seriousness, though, things have pretty much calmed down since patch day. In the very least, I no longer have 300+ ping at all times, so sniping is far less of a chore.

As for the actual content of the patch, it's neat, I guess. I've always used stock sniper+ DDS or Jarate, so I wasn't too interested in the new items (Demo looks fun, which is my second most played class.)

Has anyone played the new map much? I'm the type of player who tends to stick to a handful of maps, so I haven't played it much.

The Demo got a new shield hat sword and boots. The boots allow him to turn better during a charge so if you like using the demo for something that it wasnt really designed for(really Valve? You made a grenedier and sticky bomber into a melee class? What.) then there you go.

New Map: Unless you have a good team or set up defenses at the other points before hand its pretty much a steam roll.

I mean, if the other team manages to get to the first point its pretty much game over as it is. There's very little time to set up defenses as the points are really close to each. i.e. Turn a corner and there's the next point.

New Players: All my favs were full so I joined some odd server out of no where.

One Engineer did nothing but build dispensers. And just sat there. When asked why he said he needed scrap metal.

Spawn is five feet away. Told him that. So he DEMOLISHED dispenser and only built sentries for the rest of the game. :facepalm

Plus I think the mute button disappeared some where as my experience with f2p multiplayer shooters was proven true. Someone with a very poor grasp of the English language attempting to cuss some one out.

Resulting in a mish mash of semi-cuss words and weird noises I can only hope was an attempt at the English language.

That and no medics. EVER. 5 Snipers on a team of 12. Everyone else was a soldier or Heavy.
