Stuff happened, which makes for a nice contrast with the last few chapters of moving at a snail's pace.

Chapter's up. Thanks Lutris! Pretty decent chapter that shows how fast Ichigo is mastering fullbring. Also, is his "blade" attached to his arm?

 

I did like the new chapter, and finally having a confrontation. But the explanation of how the Fullbring dudes are able to fly and all that other stuff is weird. 'Fullbringing' the air, and the concrete in order to move, doesn't that slightly conflict with their stated abilities? I thought they could only fullbring objects they had a history with, or were specifically enabled to because of another object (i.e. Dollhouse).

Doesn't fullbringing random bits of the air kinda violate those rules? And how does he do it, anyway. Didn't he activate his fullbring through 'pride' in it and the memories associated with it? So everytime he steps in the air to run, he has to think about times he felt proud of the air?

Anyway, bullshit explanation is bullshit. I wouldn't give a shit if he didn't try to explain, but now Tite is breaking his own rules its kinda annoying.

 

They can fullbring various things to different extents. Remember, right before Ginjou brought out the sword for the first time, he drank some alcohol by fullbringing it. They just need to have an association with the object to get a really strong fullbring out of it. An extra jump or a slightly better jump is probably okay.

 

Ah, okay. Also, just noticed that Lutris is also translating D. Gray-Man!

QFT, this entire arc reads like anime filler.

This small time bad guy needs to get facerolled already so we can move on.

 

Now that you mention it, the whole arc really does read like bad anime filler. In fact, I've seen anime filler that I would rate as better than this current arc; everyone outside the main cast are a bunch of annoying, largely inconsequential characters who contribute nothing and just get in the way of the real story.

 

Everybody and their mother can use flash steps. Different factions simply call the same ability with a different name. Walking in the air is just a little trick anyone with sufficient spiritual power can use.

Thanks for the early release Lutris. Well done! I'm kind of liking this new arc so far.

 

I really hope that the next chapter involves Ichigo doing something ridiculous, like being the protagonist in Monster Hunter or something.

EDIT for clarity: I also hope it only lasts one chapter.

Nope. His character is a boring protagonist with standard shounen protagonist weapons (hitting hard/fast and using beams instead of something interesting).

Like I said, I want him to do something ridiculous, not just fight smug dudes.

 

I'm sick of trying to see Ichigo as a weakling who needs protecting. These guys should be ants to him, despite how Kubo tries to write his new found weakness.

Just waiting to find out that Ichigo was trolling them the whole time in the style of Bee vs. Team Sasuke.

 

He'll whip out his hollow mask, use two fullbrings (which obviously no-one else is awesome enough to do), and flip out. "I fought a god to a standstill," Ichigo will say as he pulps the dude who wishes he was Ichimaru Gin. "You are in the way."

Then Kon will come in and harass the maid chick, since this is Kubo writing.

I have to say, reading Bleach is a very Surreal experience.

 

Oh no, but we haven't adequately explored the backstory of this filler villain, and why we're supposed to inevitably feel sympathy for his situation before his horrible death.
