Thanks for the tips, I mostly hang around deathmatch because I'm just trying to get used to the guns, and waiting for respawn doesn't help very much .

As to ESL-Is it popular for CS? I compete in the NA Urban Terror ESL stuff, but the gathers aren't really used (because the anti-cheat is shit and doesn't stop any hack injected after the software is setup), and the website design is pretty shitty.

 

Well it's depend on from where you are. But you can always play with Germany players even if your country doesn't support too many players, I don't know about source specific but in 1.6 esl's anti-cheat program is really good and they catch many cheaters, but of course there are few that everybody know that they haxing, but program doesn't catch them. But there are always demoes.

 

Just play M4 and spray- the pattern is up, to the right, to the left. Get 5 headshots a clip every round of a pcw and then quit the game because it's awful and broke ;D

Haha I was a competitive 1.6 player back when I was younger (CAL-P, but never played a single match because I was a reserve, so CAL-M). When my room mate bought CS:S, I started playing some pubs with him. After around 30 hours of playing the game, I currently hold a 2.6 kill/death.

 

I mostly play this at the occasional lan party with a couple of friends. Mostly because there are absolutely no online servers here.

Which is probably why I have a 3.4 K/D ratio.

If you want to get better though, just play offline against the bots for a couple of hours 'till you've got the hang of it. You'll be a badass in no time.
