Despite the fact that I apparently have not even opened StarCraft 2 (let alone played it) since late February AND the fact that I was fucking horrible (platinum league :awesome) last I played, I'm throwing my hat into the ring.

 

Why not? Depending on when it falls I might not be able to, but otherwise I am in. Used to be heading for top diamond at the start, then took a break for about 9 months... been getting trounced.

Ok all - so I have a few people who've sent me info and such - just so you know, I'm going to put the cutoff for signups to tomorrow, so that I can firm things up and get a schedule/format out by next week.

EDIT:

As a note - with the format of having each match be a best of 3 played over the course of a week at your convenience, doing a Round Robin with this many people would take 15 minutes.

Instead, we'll be doing a Double Elimination style tournament that will take place over the course of 5 weeks. I think this is much more doable and still fair.

 

That sounds good to me. As a side note though I won't be able to play until Friday of next week due to finals coming up.

DLP Starcraft 2 Tournament

Seedings were random. This is double elimination - we have an odd number of people in the tournament, so we'll roll as best we can. Every match will be a best of 3. Report results to me by midnight EST on Sunday in order to have the games count.

Map Pool in general is Ladder Maps + any MLG/GSL/TSL maps. The starting map for each week (yeah, I decided this unilaterally, get over it) is as follows:

Note: The loser of the first game picks the map for the second.

Week 1: MLG Metalopolis

Week 2: MLG Shakuras Plateau

Week 3: Shattered Temple

Week 4: GSL Terminus RE

Week 5: Xel 'Naga Caverns


The layout in the Tournament page is PlayerName.CharacterCode.

If someone expressed interest, but didn't give me their code, I included their DLP name in parentheses so that you can make contact with them. Sometimes I only had DLP name, so that's all I included.

First week will essentially start now, but will not end until the 19th, just giving everyone about a week and a half to get in to the swing of things.

Any issues, just let me know. I think I got everybody who signified interest.

Btw. MLG was AWESOME. I talked to Day9, and he's the nicest person you will find in a 10 mile radius. Overall, Starcraft fans looked the best. Even though SC2 has the lowest prize pool from all the games, we were the loudest crowd. People from other games just looked in envy :>
