I've done it loads of times for my Australian friends. I have $500+ worth of Steam games, and never got in trouble, never got suspended, and never got my games restricted from me.

Which doesn't change the fact that it's against the TOS and people have gotten their accounts banned for it. The chance being less than 100% isn't incompatible with the chance being greater than 0%.

No it doesn't, however the chance of being hit by a car isn't 0% either, that doesn't stop you from leaving your house, does it?

I was making a point, it's a very common practice. Yes some people have gotten banned, but those are generally the large scale "services" which people operate, not friends helping one another out.

But it does mean that you should look both ways before crossing the road. You seem to think I'm espousing hermithood to avoid the automobile menace, when I'm really saying to cross at the damn lights - don't set your Steam profile message to something stupid like "if you're in Australia I'll buy games for you if you send me money" and don't send gifts with the tag "you owe me $X", things like that that are only self-evident if you're already aware that Steam frowns upon the practice.

I see your point, I just assumed that anyone stupid enough to do something like that would also quickly be scammed out of games, and also subsequently banned form steam.

Not exactly a bad thing if they can't bother to google a bit.

Steam Daily Deal - Time Gentlemen, Please! and Ben There, Dan That! Double Pack 75% off!
    http://store.steampowered.com/app/37400/

Time Gentlemen, Please! and Ben There, Dan That! are two of the funniest point and click adventures I've played in a long, long time. They're much better than the Telltale Games versions of Monkey Island.

If you haven't played Lucas Arts adventure games such as Day of the Tentacle, Monkey Island, Full Throttle: Hell on Wheels, and Sam & Max Hit the Road, then GTFO now; Time Gentlemen, Please! and Ben There, Dan That! are not for you. If you have been fortunate enough to play those Lucas Arts gems from the halcyon days of yore, then do yourself a favor and get an afternoon's nostalgia of point-and-click puzzling humor for $1.25.

If you can't be bothered with working out the puzzles, but don't want spoilers either, then the developers have a fantastic hint system on their website which I made liberal use of during my play through.

Just in case you're not convinced, you can get the older Ben There, Dan That! for free from the developer's website. The sequel is better both in terms of graphics and gameplay, but both games are definitely worth playing.

Time Gentlemen, Please! and Ben There, Dan That! Double Pack
DAILY DEAL! 75% off. $1.25 USD

Cheers Yak. Bought them both for a euro and I am loving them. Really funny, great dialogue. The only flaw is that there's no recorded dialogue.

GTA: San Andreas, the last good GTA game, for $3.75. Though honestly, there's not many people that haven't already played it by now.

Oh, and grand strategy game par excellence Europa Universalis 3 with all the expansions for $7.50. Nota bene that EU3 Complete doesn't have Divine Wind or Hier to the Throne, the real complete version is Chronicles.

Oh dear god. My wallet is still suffering PTSD from last year's summer sale. I don't think I'll buy much this year.

Wait-a-minute, they have Back to the Future complete for $12.49...?

    Jesus. This won't end well.

I have Oblivion for the PS3 and have been wanting to play it recently.

    Unfortunately, I don't have a PS3.

    Yoink!
