The last time I checked, Zoro still needed to breathe.

 

He was until Whatsisname got another pill boost. He already had at least one if not two of those in his system to pump himself up before even coming into the Ryuuguu Kingdom about fifteen or twenty(more?) chapters back, and after getting owned by Zoro we had a short scene where his crew found him and did something about it.

Presumably that, coupled with the lack of oxygen on the battle field, put Zoro at the disadvantage.

Didn't really enjoy this chapter. Too cluttered.

Think Oda's just trying to introduce far too many characters at once, here.

 

Sigh, we dealt with a two year time skip and this is what we get, at least Naruto when it did this had the decency to hop back into the major plot action within the first 15 chapters.

 

Hey, this is One Piece; filler is a requirement. It took ages to get through the early arcs and more or less retains the same pace going forward, if slimmed back narrowly. Most of the stuff here is laying the groundwork for whats to come six years from now.

That said: Boring chapter was boring. Defeats the purpose of having a villain if he's done in by his own power up.

 

I was all "serves him right" when he got fucked up by overdose, but the last few panels imply that he, dunno, mutated or something. Point is, I bet he'll be stronger than before because of something that should have killed him.

....I do hope that timeline is a major exaggeration, another 6 years of One Piece moving at the same pace as now is rather painful to think of.

I understand filler is a requirement from time to time- specially in this series where you have the log post- but that doesn't mean I have to enjoy 6 weeks of back story for this country we will never care about nor have to hear about again once its over. Hell, he could have simply skipped those chapters and have Luffy do a wake up scene and have us all find out he fell asleep and this story would be no different.

 

Considering that Oda has stated somewhere (don't ask me for sauce, but I read it in an interview in Jump or in a manga-peripheral magazine somewhere) that he and his editors are planning on One Piece to end at Volume 100. Currently, we're in the low 60s in terms of Tankobon volumes. It's not unreasonable to assume shit's going to come crashing down a short while after we get our 10th crewmember of the Strawhat Pirates.

 

Yep, I knew it, I knew I would never make it to the end of this series. I will get bored of it when school starts up again and do my best not to touch it until the damn thing finishes. Honestly this series has too much left in it to hold my attention. I mean there are still the other two emperors of the new world that we have to meet, we all know that eventually Oda will give them to us. We have unresolved issues with Shanks and I suppose the remnants of Whitebeard's crew. We still need to deal with Blackbeard and his crew who are being set up as our final boss. We need to deal with the marines and all affiliates with them and the world government, there is at least 10 major battles in that just off the top of my head. Please Oda... no more, you have a plot set, the course is charted, just please open the sails so we can get going.

Oh and a tenth crewmember!? Christ I don't even care about half of them already and he's planning to add another one?

 

If you read the first few chapters, Luffy goes on about wanting '10 crewmembers' when he's still on that rickety old rowboat. He talks about having a Cook (check), a Medic (check), a Musician (check), a Mechanic (check), and a Navigator (check), maybe some others that I don't remember.

Lots of fans take this to mean that Luffy is going to have 9 buddies on his boat.

Oda's also said something somewhere about having 10 crewmembers.

 

Sigh* well as long as number ten can add something to the story then I suppose he might as well go for it.
