Personally, I have this theory that in movie verse wizards live longer, because they preserve their energy on such an useless thing as looking young. Case in point - see seventeen years old Harry in the part one. He already looks like he is more than twenty years old.

 

I'm not convinced of the latter part of that. McGonagall was in her sixties, but expected to survive into her 120's- the 'effective' maturity should have made her appear to be mid-forties, but she looks like an actress in her 70's- and JKR thought she was a perfect fit for the role. Not to mention, she's an accomplished witch in Transfiguration, which would be more likely to allow for permanent youthful modifications than Charms.

I think magicals live very long, but atrophy at the normal pace for humans, perhaps even faster as a result of magic's rough use of their body.

tl;dr- sometimes having magic sucks the life out of you; the actors look just fine (except Ginny- someone lost a bet somewhere with that one).

They probably realized that it looks really bad if photos from a film set are any indication.

 

Went and booked my ticket yesterday, I asked for the earliest showing - I believed it would be at about twelve or one o clock, the person at the counter double checked with me while telling me the first showing was at eight o clock in the morning, seriously? One at eight, one at eleven, one at two, one at five, one at eight at night... that's a lot of showings for the first day compared to other movies which get two or three max.

 

Really? For the first part our theatre had all 8 showing it at midnight, and again at 3. Then it had 3 theatres showing it the next day every 3 hours.

 

I'd reckon they also don't want to introduce a kid name Albus Severus.
