Some sweet games from the GSPA, between Destiny and Bomber @ Day9's page.

Surprise, surprise, Bomber loses 2-1 to Destiny.

    Yer, some pretty sweet games.
It's probably because his style is so unique, I doubt Bomber had seen anything like it before.

There were so many times Bomber could have won that game if just pushed for the base, the fact that the usually aggressive player in that match up sat and turtled showed how confused he was. Destiny deserved that first game, not just because of his all together weird build and strategy, but because of how he basically screwed with bomber with the different unit compositions. Switching from ultralisks to brood lords all while building up his infestors was an insane move that forced Bomber to play how Destiny wanted him to.

So apparently I just got matched up against the korean pro gamer SlayerS_Dragon in North American ladder using a spoof account. Like 4 people following his stream told me so after I lost to him that I was the closest so far to winning.

Bastard took a quick gold on Slag Pits as mech terran. If not for the map choice I might've done better and then I would have REAL bragging rights. :(

Well done. I ran in to my first Masters level player on the ladder today and took the game off of him (helped that he was toss - Morrow's ZvP build is so sick), I was quite excited.

Nowhere near facing a Korean pro, obviously, but still cool.

Also, Zarent - it'd be pretty cool to see that replay. Do you have it?

Jesus Christ, the North American Star League finals are sloppy.

Well. They started two hours late, the sound quality was horrible for a while there, they didn't have game sound on, and the unit health bars still aren't on. The camera, out of game, is shaking like hell.

And the most annoying thing: The sound is higher on the right side than it is on the left. It's not that bad on speakers, but while listening through a headset it's really annoying.

    Lolrant.

And yeah. That first game was disappointing.

Well, typically they don't show health bars, but yeah starting late like that was pretty unprofessional. We'll have to wait and see if the game quality improves, because from what I saw during the actual season, only a few games actually stood out.

Wait. Did they seriously LOWER the quality for free users? Are you fucking kidding me?

I can't even have fucking 480p? Fuck NASL.

It was hilarious hearing iNcontrol say "But look at the red health on those zerglings!"

    But I can't!

    Yeah, that's some bullshit.

I bought a season pass way back when it started, cause I had high hopes and I wanted to support some North American endeavors into eSports. I'm not buying the next season.

I consistently buy GSL tickets because the value is just immense- especially the HQ VODs, so good- but I stopped watching NASL for a while because it was so trash. Somehow they managed to make it worse. Jesus christ.

Also Gretorp and inControl need to realize that Squirtle is kinda a trash Korean. Not that it usually matters, but still.

Dude, I just can't believe that the first two maps are Caverns and Crossfire. Talk about fucking over the Zerg players...

Also, Sheth threw that game away.

He doesn't like ZvZ so he goes Terran for it.
Edit: Which is a mistake cause ZvZ is July's worst matchup, in my opinion.

Same. My mates and I have actually been organizing like, GSL final BBQs for most of them so we can all watch together. Make an event out of it and all. People do it for sports, so why not SC2? =P

But so far the finals have been horrible.

Apart from GSL2 (MarineKing/Foxer vs Nestea was awesome), all the finals have been utterly horrid - 4-0/4-1 games mostly. It always seems like you have some strong player like Nestea matched up with players who just self destruct in the finals, like Inca who just went DTs every single round last GSL. I was really disappointed with July v. MC too, which had the potential to be so cool (I love seeing July play usually...).

Maybe we should start having semi-finals BBQs instead...they tend to be way better.

As for the streaming quality, it was nice to see last GSL we were able to actually load the HQ stream. Usually they don't have nearly enough bandwidth to even handle the SQ and its stutter-y and drops out a lot for us Aussies.

Disappointingly it looks like NASL is going to be an all Korean last 8. The best foreigners just never got to the finals, either dropping out in qualifying (Idra) or not participating at all (Huk).

That said though, whilst we're going to get humiliated by the Koreans once again, it's been completely deserved so far. July and Puma rolled their opponents (July especially - played amazingly well), and Sheth decided that winning wasn't what he wanted to do in the middle of his second game. Foreigners really need to start adapting the training regime the Koreans use, as it's beyond obvious as to how much better it makes them.

As for the streaming quality, it is pretty retarded that 480p is being blocked out. I hope they don't expect that to promote more buys considering the technical issues, the delay, and the quality of production (interviews, etc) they've had so far. Really not impressed. Homestory Cup was much better run.

I always root for a Korean unless IdrA or Sen is playing. And I don't see Zenio beating Sen.

I can see the NASL being re-named at this rate. Koreans up 4-0, just shows how much those Gaming Houses they have do in terms of practise and gameplay, admittedly Moon's win over Hasu came from the zerg run-through, but Hasu was totally out of position anyway.

The production's starting to get better, it took them long enough when pictures were going up yesterday of them setting up, stress testing & so on, yet they still launched the stream whilst they still had guys putting the lighting & the stage set up. Not to mention the sound problems, mic cut-offs, complete lack of communication between the casters and production, and then there's the intro videos, which, whilst serving as a nice catch up for us who haven't watched most of the NASL season, seem too long & in some cases (Hasu in particular) degrading, showing more losses than wins, yet they still made the final 16.

Seems they're finally getting their act together, now all they need to do is put Day9 on Interviews, throw on Tastosis for commentary & occasionally switch out Artosis with Day9 & we're good. Not sure why but I can't stand In-Control or Gretorp commentating, just... they don't gel, at all, they just seem to awkwardly stumble around the commentary & the number of blank jokes they droped... just, shambles.

God dammit, I'm tired of Koreans dominating.

Wish NA would get better, but I'm not sure we can when we're not able to focus our lives on Starcraft. In Korea it's viable to live off of Starcraft, but in NA that's only just started happening.
