The first pages with Naruto, as always, were shit but it became better with the old Kages, who were indeed rather cool. It's going to be disappointing though.

Also the whole magnetism theme of this chapter was rather dumb. Seems to me Kishi found a few magnets to play with in his house and decided to dedicate the chapter to it, regardless on how magnetism actually works.

 

Yeah, I know. It was still a lame name though. As in right out of 70's low budget sci-fi movies.

My main problem was this: Pre-time-skip, the strongest Ninja knew a shit load of strong normal element jutsu. Sarutobi was the top. This situation was awesome. Manga was still cool. Post time skip, in a bid to make more powerful antagonists Kishi is spouting the weirdest shit outta his ass that somewhat nullifies the Pre-time-skip 'gods'. I do not like this.

 

And yet Minato, A, and Jiriaya make them all look like chumps in comparison.

But the shit is weird. Grandpa Gaara used Iron Sand, Daddy Gaara used Gold Sand, and Gaara just gets regular sand? Gay.

 

Iron: Magneto like powers mebbe? But still, hard to find so limited scope in size of moves.

Gold: Stupid hard to find. Probably easy to steal. Very limited in size of moves.

Sand: Stupid easy to find therefore massive AoE is possible. and we all know AoE is awesome.

 

Suna would never have had problems with money if the Kage (Gaara's father) would have been able to make gold out of his chakra. I mean really, if some of these superpowered ninja's can make water/mud/rock/air from their mouths why can't he just make gold?

 

The joke was not why Suna had money problems when their Kage could produce gold like magic, he can't.

Its that they had the problem when their Kage threw gold around like it was confetti.

Puts the whole thing with the Wind Daimyo in perspective.

Ryo is an old Japanese monetary system based on gold. If a Japanese manga artist wanted his monetary system to be based on something else, he would call it something else.

One of the Konoha History Arc episodes in Shippuden after the Pein Arc. I think it's something to do with the cats in that city Sasuke and the others visited.
