I'll be honest. I never made this connection. Holy Shit. This is why Harry Potter is awesome. Connections that you never notice appear, even years later.

Nice. I did think of them as connected in other ways (three Half-bloods from broken homes who chose three different paths), but never thought of associating that with the story of the Peverell brothers or the Deathly Hallows.

If only Snape had owned the Resurrection Stone at some point... :awesome

 

It's a nice connection, though the Snape one is a bit tenuous. He didn't really die for a lost love so much as live for a lost love. His death was more because the one who died for power wanted more power.

But still, nice.

 

Actually, you can substitute Snape with Dumbledore. Wanted to use Resurrection Stone re: Ariana, a lost love (family instead of romantic), AND he's also a half-blood who made Hogwarts his true home.

I still don't understand that. Why is Harry a half-blood if both his parents are magical? How many generations of magicals mus pass before one is considered pureblooded?

I'd say to be considered pureblood you'd need to have magical ancestors on both sides going back three generations or so, although I'm sure the more extreme purebloods would say that if you could place a non pureblood in your family tree, you weren't pure enough. Four magical grandparents for the technical term I reckon, but again, probably not accepted as a real pureblood unless all your ancestors as far back as you could trace were part of the Old Familes (Most Noble/Ancient/etc).
