It won't be "alright" even disregarding that (and societal norms) because people who grow up in normally adjusted families simply don't feel that way about their family members (those who they grow up with, at any rate).

Those who write Harry/Lily do it(as has been stated) because Lily is hot, and a MILF.The only difference between Harry/Lily and Harry/Narcissa is that Lily is dead, not that she's Harry's mom.

But I doubt many of those fics show the repercussions of incest, or even have the "fuck your mommy, son!" kind of lines. Incest writers won't be willing to self-insert into Harry at that point.

 

On the sliding scales of fetishes, incest isn't really that high up. I'd being more concerned about a guy fucking some corpses or going doggy style on animals, than some guy bonking his mom.

If there's one thing wrong with the internet, is that it lets all this shit smack you across the face. If I never went online, I'd probably have never heard of mpreg or the gang-rape of fictional characters by their fathers. You take the good with the bad I suppose.

 

I don't know, maybe it says something about my mindset, but to me the incest part is what makes it so hot. Just pointing out that this is text, and most fics don't really describe anyone well enough to get a really accurate mental picture. In essence, you are creating you own 'hot person' with the base characteristics described.

I doubt anyone can imagine the face of Lily and see it as clearly as, say, the face of Emma Watson. The image of Lily is one you make up yourself, and thus, is less actually attractive and more a conceptual realization of attractiveness. The image you imagine is never going to be as attractive as an actual image of a person. Something intellectual is whats getting you off, not the sheer physicality of the scene.

TL,DR: Its not an image, you imagine the hotness yourself. Its either the incest or the writing that makes you like the pairing, not Lily herself.

(Also just clarifying, its the taboo of incest thats hot, not committing it. Westermarck Effect is working here.)

It's not about concern, per se.
