So is there a set time for this or any specific period to refresh during?

(Sorry if my questions seem stupid. xD)

They're going to be switching up the times they release clues, so many time zones are able to participate.

Twitter will likely freak out when a clue gets posted, so you could always keep an eye on that.

xD The next clue posted will be the August 1st one, so there's still a while before I need to start keeping a close eye on the page, yes?

(Thanks so much for your help, by the way. :) )

Because of the different time zones it as already August 1st in many parts of the world.

Europe, and therefore Great Britain, being an example of such.

Of course not. Plenty of the others look legit[ish] tho. They seem to be in the $5 - $50 range.

It's easier to spend $5 than it is to hover around a website all day and night hoping that you don't miss the brief window of registration time.

I can sort of see why people would pay $5-15 to avoid wasting their time.

I suppose. But everyone is guaranteed access when the thing opens in...October was it? I guess I just don't understand spending money on something you'll get for free sooner or later.

You might as well ask why fans are staying up all night trying to get in. It's a combination of fan mentality and artificial scarcity [ala Google+ invites, Gmail invites, etc].

No matter how shitty a job you have, $5 is less than an hours wages in any first world country. Most folks earn a lot more than that. Is it more effort to work half an hour [at your job], than it is to expend all of this effort trying to capture a "free" beta account? I suppose it depends on how much you value your own personal time.

"@madicritchley1: JK Rowling is laughing somewhere in Scotland right now for making all of her fans so crazy and sleep-deprived #pottermore"

It's pretty ridiculous, but I'm not really a JKR fan. I think that paying $5 is the more rational option if you want early access but can't be assed to jump through all of the hoops.

Fair point. Certainly they would stand to make a lot of money if they did it as an official option. You can either do the riddle, magic quill thing, or you can pay 5 quid for an early account.

    Day 2's Clue is up:

What is the number of the chapter in which Professor McGonagall cancels the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff?
    Multiply this number by 42.

Those of you who might have missed the first rush, get in quickly.
