Personally, I think if it was written right he'd end up more like Moody. Both supposedly fantastic aurors, massively anti-Dark, paranoid (or at least just suspicious), tireless, good fighters in stressful conditions, etc, and what would probably amount to an entire lifetime spent fighting for the cause. Neither had anything approaching Dumbledore's intellect. Further enforce Harry-as-Moody by giving him a little more personal tragedy to deal with, thus making him a little more reckless as his years go on, and there you have it.

I'd read the shit out of Mad-Eye Harry, especially if the rest of the world have the same sort of opinion of retiree!Harry as they do of Moody in canon. Oh, ye of little faith...

Fuck you. First, this story is a Naruto crossover, which many here won't enjoy. Second, this is the opposite of what he described, a Dumbledore like character who never learns to be a hardass and still keeps to the moral high ground after the action stops.

Over my many years of reading fanfiction I have often ran in to fics containing Fem!Harry!, hell this year I have even read a few fics containing Fem!Voldemort!.

This has made me think up a terrible mistake, I shudder even as I write it out.

But seriously, I don't think a pedo Fem!Snape will work well. A Fem!Snape shouldn't fall in love with Lily (except she is a lesbian), therefore she won't have much hatred toward James Potter (except she is a lesbian, and she sees James as the one who took Lily from her), and thus will not loathes Harry as much as we see in canon (except she is a lesbian, and she hates James because he took Lily from her, and she sees much of James in Harry).

I think if pedo fem!Snape has no feelings toward Harry, it will kill the story so much and make her become just another Female OC who replaces Snape position as a Potion Master (or mistress?), and she will not have that much role in Harry's life like Snape in canon. There will be no interesting thing about her at all, except -maybe- if you make her molesting Malfoy, Crabbe, or Blaise Zabini.

But I think we can twist it a little: make fem!Snape somehow sees Lily in -maybe- Ginny. Thus grows the forbidden romance between pedo fem!Snape and Ginny, throw Diary!Tom Riddle somewhere in it, and you'll get femmeslash, pedophiles, threesome, and angsts all in one.

Fem!Snape would have grown up making friends with Lily in Manchester and then maintaining the friendship despite House separation. Their real break comes when Severina falls hard for the audacious James Potter, and their rivalry for his attentions sends Sev to commit to her Dark housemates. James still falls for Lily.

Sev hears the prophecy and asks that the Dark Lord spare the hunka-hunka James, since he's not relevant to the prophecy, but James is stubborn and Voldemort kills him. Lily still sacrifices herself for her child and Harry remains.

When Harry shows up, Severina is confounded by the attraction to mini-James coupled with Lily's accusing eyes that keep her feeling guilty. Sev tortures Harry until 5th year, when her feelings of attraction are laid bare in their Occlumency lessons...

"Professor Snape, are you trying to seduce me?"

"No, of course not my boy. Occlumency is best taught while naked. This is how I learned it."

Presumably being female doesn't change the fact that Snape has an unfortunate nose; sallow skin; lank, greasy hair; uneven, yellowish teeth; and a penchant for harboring undying obsessions.

Why can't she obsess over Lily? She was childhood friends with Lily, fell in love with her when they were growing up, they had a falling out in year 5 or 6, and then Lily fell in love with James and fem!Snape's heart broke. Then we can have all sorts of fun with Snape staring into Harry's eyes and seeing Lily in them.

On an unrelated note, How do you guys feel about Julia or Juliana for a fem!Harry name?

 

Meh. Julia is ok, I guess. I just took a look at British baby names for girls and recoiled in horror, so it could be a lot worse.

 

I'm looking for a name that I can shorten without cringing. I like Julia, but I hate Jules. I cannot tolerate a pet name like Prongslet. That makes me want to murder small children.

EDIT: I may go with Elizabeth. A lot of potential there.

I get really sick of seeing ALL fem!Harry names either Rose or Harriet. Not a fan of Elizabeth, but liking Julia.

This. Sure, I can understand where Harriet came from (although that doesn't make it any better) but why do so many people use the name Rose? It just seems a bit strange to me.

Also, sort-of plot bunny I've been thinking about that won't leave me alone, and almost definitely will not be written:

Wizarding World where might equals right. Basically, if you're powerful you can do whatever you want. Murder, duels and violence are a common occurrence, because basically there are no laws, only force. The powerful can just walk all over those less powerful than them, and there is only safety for the weak in alliances. Slavery would be pretty commonplace. This is a society where Harry, Dumbledore, and (especially) Voldemort would excel due to their power.

Only problem is that I'm pretty sure this is just Taure's fic, although it's been a while since I've read that. Can the Lords of Magic basically do whatever they want without consequence, or are there laws? Is there a risk of them being murdered so someone can take their place, or are they pretty much untouchable?

I really need to go read that story again...

 

Petunia - Lily - Rose. Flowers as names as a 'family tradition', even though we only have one generation of evidence.

 

I get where they come from, but it always seems lazy.

Although most of the fem!Harry fics I've found seem to just be PWP, so I guess the name doesn't really matter.
