Ok so I am getting kind of tired reading HP fanfics(and canon)that are always potraying the wizarding society as this weak willed and ignorant society with a totally unreliable government.So if anyone has read a good story that actually shows proud British wizards doing something about Voldemort and not depending on a prepubescent boy who knows nothing of their world, please I would really appreciate it if you gave me a link.

Another thing,I have always wondered how Voldylocks rose to power,having proud pureblood families follow someone who didnt come from an established family had to have been an astonishing feat and what sort of terror did he inspire in the Wizarding society so that they were afraid to even utter his name.If this a fic that attempts to address this issue,I would appreciate if someone could provide me with a link.

Sorry my failed attempt at Humor,I meant Voldemort and how he went from a mild mannered,humble(at least deceptively) and genius student, to a man so feared that grown men and women,aurors and even the minister of magic himself are afraid to utter his name.So I was looking for a fic that showed this, do you have any suggestions?

As for the title it was to imply that I was looking for a story where say the government actually tries to kill Voldemort and its kind of like one of those black ops operation, or maybe someone or people in the wizarding society who dont want to depend on a child for their salvation.

 

I'd be interested in the first as well, despite the fact that it renders Harry Potter irrelevant.

Well,people are branching out in fan fiction, there are some stories where Harry doesn't even appear so long as it is set in the Harry potter universe it doesn't matter.

If such stories don't exist do you think I should post it in the plot bunny section and maybe a decent writer will write it?

I have to admit, though, that I didn't exactly read this story, just remembered the summary and the name back when I was browsing the A.R. List.

 

OP, the closest thing I've seen is Redemption by silentclock. Awesome fic, it shows his rise to power to an extent, but it's mainly a look at Voldemort's motives through an internal monologue.
