Even if the premise is ridiculous, Olivia Wilde, Harrison Ford and James Bond and most importantly Olivia Wilde means I'm gonna check this movie out.

As good a reason as any other I should think.

Can't be any worse than the average alien invasion movie.

I'm a fan of Weird West and Steampunk, plus the cast is killer, so it looks like about 3 different grades of win. Definite see for me.

Looks like it'd be entertaining, at the very least.

I want that gauntlet on Daniel Craig's character's arm. I WANT IT NAO

Got to say, this does look pretty awesome.

I thought Halo had a good storyline. :( Well, Halo 1 at least. Never played the rest.

Also, this movie could be either really bad, or really good. I'll be waiting for reviews before I decide whether to watch it or not.

I will watch it, but probably on DVD not in the cinema.

By the way, it seems that this movie has a quite interesting story behind it:

    Link.

Now, that's what I call determination.

    The concept? Retarded. Blatantly retarded.

The explanation they are invariably going to give for aliens abducting cowboys and giving them the weapons needed to shoot down their ships? Likely something far beyond retarded.

What this movie looks like it's going to be? Fucking awesome.

Seriously, I'm going to see this the day it comes out.

also, Halo's storyline is great, unless you think about it for more than 30 seconds.

Cowboys and Aliens will be awesome. I geeked hard when I saw the trailer at Deathly Hallows.

It's kinda funny that this will be the first western I've actively gone to see (discounting An American Tail: Fieval Goes West).

So, it's out now, or preview screenings at least. Went to see it tonight, and I was a little underwhelmed if I'm honest. I wasn't expecting a deep and meaningful drama, but I was expecting something a little more entertaining than I got. It's just a little dull for a lot of the film. The gauntlet is too powerful and used too early, so there isn't a great deal of tension for the most part. Funny though, especially when Harrison Ford is offering manful advice :awesome The aliens are pretty creepy too.

    On a semi-related note:

It's not in the (really, really, really awful) film

Yeah, I saw it a week ago. Film's average really. I found the storyline to be pretty shit, but the cast definitely carried it through the worst parts.

Some of the twists were really fucking obvious, and the ending was meh.

The thing that really got me were all the little inconsistencies. Such as the fight scene near the end outside the ship. They rode in there with about 30 people, and in the first few seconds, about 10 people were killed, but then suddenly and inexplicably no one else died, despite absolutely no changes in tactics.

I'd give it a 6.5/10 for the cast carrying the plot. At no point did I feel like I wanted to leave, or overly bored, but also at no point did I feel particularly excited about the film.

You all expected way too much. I went in expecting cowboys fighting aliens. That's what I got. The fact that there was a half assed plot attached was just a bonus.
