And It looks like the same thing is happening to my INBN idea. So

    Rescind Vote: MrINBN
    Vote Player: Mishie

Oh, and INBN? I'm not going to tell you how to play, obviously. But doing a NO U vote in mafia/werewolf/death eater is a HUGE way to make yourself seem suspicious. You're moving up my list buddy.

I'm just posting for now to say sorry that I didn't post today until now - I was at a party and got myself injured. Not terribly badly, but the bruises, when they come up, shall be glorious. I slept it off for most of the day, woke up groggy and managed to catch up on this thread a bit, and fell asleep again. So now I'm going to keep reading, then post my thoughts.

Well... that was a random Charlie-Foxtrot of voting.

    It's lynching time,

    Tyrannosaurs!

    /serious

I don't think Mishie has a power role based on his posts and he's clearly a dividing issue for the town so if he wasn't voted out today it'd just come up again and again until he was, even though he has been cleared by fen. So:

    Vote Player: mishie

...and that's nine votes "for". Maybe we got lucky with a Dark Lord, but I rather doubt it.

    Day 4 has entered Twilight.

We reached consensus. The Dementor's Kiss was administered to mishie. He was a Wizard.

    Twilight has started.

Twilight is the frame of time between a successful "lynching" (in this instance, the Dementor's Kiss) and the natural conclusion of the day. In twilight, you may still post and discuss anything that has happened, however you cannot vote to have anyone else receive the Dementor's Kiss.

Posting is permitted in this thread until 10:00PM EST on 29 August 2011.

Only the following seventeen (17) individuals have permission to participate in this thread:

Aekiel, Ashaya, Atomicwalrus, Ayreon, Aziraphale, CrackedMind, Fenraellis, Fiat Piscis, Hashasheen, Hero of Stupidity, jwlk, KaiDASH, Kensington, Krogan, Lutris, Merrill II (HOST), mishie, MrINBN, Palindrome, ratstrub, Scrittore, Taure, Vesvius, Vira, Xiph0 and Zeitgeist

    mishie: 9
Zeitgeist, Fiat Piscis, Atomicwalrus, Aziraphale, Scrittore, Aekiel, Kensington, Vesvius and KaiDASH

    Vesvius: 1
    MrINBN

    Hashasheen: 1
    Ashaya

    Has Not Voted: 6
Ayreon, Fenraellis, Hashasheen, Krogan, mishie and Palindrome

17 players remain; 9 required to feed the Dementor

I still suspect Hashasheen. Though it's become readily apparent that we have some Death Eaters among us who voted for mishie. Those who started the bandwagon should be closely looked at.

Hopefully the Auror will find a DE tonight.

    Yay. I was fucking right.

Alright, so from now on every day doesn't start with "we should lynch mishie." That means we have to actually think about other people.

Scritorre's idea about it all being an attempt to clear Kensington is...interesting. Very interesting, because it implies both exceptional planning on the part of the DEs and suggests that one of the people I thought was guilty before is guilty with a decent piece of backing beyond "their posts feel wrong."

We're losing more and more wizards every turn and pretty soon they're going to start hitting people with actual roles. We've got to do something now.

    I wake-up and, oh shit.

I was completely wrong about my mishie theory, but you guys actually believed me? I thought that Fenraellis's report would distract most of you and that mishie would only receive three votes: the votes that he had already received.

Well, at least proves one thing that I had wanted proven: Fiat Piscis or Hashasheen are very likely Death Eaters. I would suspect the former more than the latter.

I'll explain my reasoning, which Fiat would inevitable label "retarded", during the next day. There's not really enough time to start a debate now, with the end of Twilight upon us.

However, I apologise for this indiscretion.

Too late, it seems. You guys should have taken my warning earlier about it looking wrong. :facepalm

True. At least there's that silver-lining. For it's little worth.

I'm not sold on him, but I'm amenable to a closer look.

... Like what? We've got no cards to play besides those of the power-roles. The only thing we have to work is hope the Auror gets a DE by random.

As I read through the last page I made notes on everything that crossed my mind since I find it easier to do that at the time of reading than to remember it and go back to it. So basically here's my thoughts on the last page and a bit, stopping when Merrill posts. I don't have time to go any further and discuss Mishie's innocence - I'm just sorry that I got here so late, so everyone can't have the time to digest my take on it and reply. Sorry guys. Maybe the lengthy analysis makes up for it? (I doubt that)

Anyway, I wrote this all before I found out the verdict, so it's interesting in that regard, I suppose. Mostly I assumed everyone was guilty, and tried to think what their actions would mean if they were innocent.

    --

Issue of voting for HoS - stupid, why would people suspect someone for not voting someone who could just as easily have been innocent - and indeed was innocent in the death eater's eyes, or uphold it the other way either

Scrittore - accused of being a 'ghost', used HoS and voting for Taure as a deflection for accusations - voting for Taure isn't an adequate excuse either, considering everyone active in the thread at the time voted Taure, and we did it in two hours. Or pretty much everyone.

Hashasheen - seems somewhat bloodthirsty, #591 tries to abstain from voting, wants to vote for mishie apparently but doesn't - claims wants to see better candidate crop up, believes we're being manipulated into voting him - sincerity? If true is kind of stupid, as we need to lynch someone this round.

Mishie - you do know he is a male, guys? Don't belive has a very high chance of being dark lord - find it suspicious that people tried to bring him up despite having an auror we've trusted so far confirming innocent report. I don't think proving Fen's status - which we had already seemed to have accepted prior to this - is a good excuse to try and lynch Mishie, especially considering that the kills suggest attention was trying to be drawn to him.

It seems to me, at least, that the death eaters wouldn't have killed jwlk in order to try and protect Mishie when attention was already drawn off him from last kill, when people seemed to confused by it to vote for him. Unless, of course, and I'm starting to suspect this more, I admit - he really is the dark lord and they were trying to get the auror to reveal his investigation on him - pressing that, even, so he would be absolved from suspicion if it was revealed. They would be able to tell if one of them was visited, right? So they'd have a reasonable guess that it was the Auror.

Aekiel - votes Mishie to help bandwagon because he needs to go offline

Fiat Piscis - accused of trying to steer lynchings? Plausible, actually - he is very dominant a factor in directing discussion. Comes up with good theories as to death eater's motives - which one could construe as suspicous as if they're true then they might indicate he has that understanding due to being a death eater (or just clever, hehe), and is trying to act as a foil to the other death eaters to avoid suspicion if they're found out.

Suspicion about being visited? Personally think it's over the top, possibly unfounded, need to figure out why though. Seems too risky as a strategy? Uhh

Ashaya - slipped under radar for first few rounds, has been accused of deliberately trying to be quiet. I'm inclined to believe her defense - she claimed it was less fun when not a death eater, hence wouldn't post much - mostly because she doesn't strike me as the type to be inconsistent when in the same roles. But then again, uh... I'm sure she would have learnt from the last game, so my own thoughts about how she would act are probably skewed by that. If she is a death eater, this could mean that the power roles this time really have been deliberately trying to avoid suspicion by being quiet. Useful hunch to have confirmed - but like I said, probably wouldn't just be limited to death eaters if true.

Kensington - I remember there being something else suspicious him, must remember what that was.

Asserted that the death eaters may be trying to get attention on him because the guy killed voted for him. Seems somewhat simple, especially considering the amount of counter-suspicion that our players have exibited regarding the same thought with Mishie. Why would our death eaters have ignored the issue and suspicion of Jwlk and Mishie last round in favour of this? Scrittore suggested this, possibly trying to divert attention from Mishie?

    Bandwagoned on Mishie also.

Vesvius - Voted for INBN. Trying to throw off suspicion from Mishie? Trying to split the vote?

Here's where I post, and when I get back to this thread after reading it through and making my notes, I see Merrill's post.

KaiDASH - Bandwagons on Mishie, is the last vote.

It's 2:48 as I type this, so I'm going to post this instead of continuing writing. 2:58, finished text-formatting (wrote it in notepad, had to take enters out), finished note at top.

Apologies for the lateness of the thread opening. A full 24 hours will still be maintained until we get to Night 5 (which will be 21 hours).

    Night 4 has concluded

One of us did not survive the night:

A masked individual visited Zeitgeist's home and used the Killing Curse on him. Zeitgeist was a Wizard
    .

    Day 5 has started

Posting is now permitted in this thread until 01:00AM EST on 1 September 2011.

Only the following sixteen (16) individuals have permission to participate in this thread:

I think that Hashasheen is guilty. His posts remind me of Lord Anarchy's...don't you guys see it? If he's not a Death Eater, go after me next, whatever, but PLEASE, let's just try.

Legit? Zeitgeist was an actual wizard? Fucking awesome. I'd been on the fence on whether he was guilty or just seeing nonexistent patterns that made me and everyone else an HoS supporter.

Either way, I sort of agree with Ashaya, but I also sort of suspect her.

I think I'm not going to vote just yet.

EDIT: To Zeit: I'm not speaking ill of the dead, bro. I don't mean to insult you or anything now that you can't fight back. I'm just asserting my belief that whatever it is that had you suspecting me kind of came from nowhere.

    You'll be missed.

I presume that this is silence caused by hesitance more than anything else.

So, 15 people remaining, 3/12 chance to catch a Death Eater/Sorcerer(discounting myself and my two not guilty and alive reports), 1/14 for the Dark Lord...

Some innocent people need to stop being suspicious enough to warrant investigations.

Maybe it's that the death eaters are pushing innocents in exactly the right way to make them seem more suspicious than real death eaters.

Quite possible. The tricky part is that, in theory, a good Death Eater would have an identical response to being accused as any other innocent Wizard. So, whether it's an innocent accusing a Death Eater, or a Death Eater accusing an innocent, the two different parties could have the same reactions, marking them with the same relative degree of suspicion or lack of it.

In practice, that may not be true, but I wouldn't be surprised if at least one of the Death Eaters is somebody that hasn't had more than a passing suspicion placed upon them.

I doubt it. Aside from shit where someone's obviously been framed (Mishie yesterday, Me/Hash today) I think people are just saying/doing stupid shit that makes them suspect.

For example, our resident Israeli lurks constantly and only posts when someone insults him or says that we should lynch him. And INBN barely posts at all. And Ashaya is oddly quiet compared to the last thread. And Palindrome posts in a way that seems distinctly suspicious. And Hash is bloodthirsty as hell. And I vote at the tip of a hat and suspect everyone and then say so very loudly.

We're all doing something that makes us suspicious, it's only an issue of whether or not it's because we're actually guilty or just looking that way due to fuck ups.

EDIT: On the note of Fen's last point: has anyone even suggested that Vesvius was guilty? Because I'm pretty sure damn near everyone else had been accused at least once, including our fucking Auror.

EDIT 2: I mean aside from INBN's random "No U"
