Yeah, I don't hate on Cordelia for that mess (no matter how frustrating those episodes are to watch), I blame the writers.

The season wasn't all bad. I liked Wes's arc, the battle on the rooftop with the Beast, the Angelus and Faith stuff, I even liked the Fred stuff in the Jasmine arc.

So while it wasn't my favorite season, there was excellent stuff in there.

Edit: And I have to say that Willow would have been much better off with Fred than with that annoying bitch Kennedy.

    True.
    But Fred. :(

They kill off Fred for a god but then they get rid of almost all of her cool powers making her antifred for nothing. I miss her even now.

Fred's character had pretty much run it's course by season 5, so it wasn't too upsetting to see her go. Though I think they did go a little overboard at completely destroying her soul in the process.

You know, I wish Wesley had gotten the chance to appear in a later season of Buffy. It would have been amusing to see their reactions to Badass!Wes compared the the bumbling tool they knew him as.

I can't help but think that I enjoy this video way more than I should. I even giggle every time Angel appears on screen.

So the first issue of Buffy season 9 was released yesterday. It is better than most of season 8, but that isn't saying much.

The first issue of Angel & Faith was much, much better.

Is anyone else reading the comics?

No. I kept getting plot updates via Xanderzone, and the comics started off bad plot-wise and got progressively worse for me.

I liked the open-ended nature of Chosen, and if I ever write BtVS fanfiction again, will behave as if that and Not Fade Away are the end of canon.

I don't consider the comics real canon either. But Angel: After the Fall was pretty good.

And although season 8 sucked worse than I could have ever imagined, Angel & Faith will be worth reading if the first issue is anything to go by. They seem to have characters driving the plot over there instead of having the plot drive the characters.

    Plus, the art is fantastic.

Ah, but this one placed the nail on the coffin and this hammered it.
