New Chapter up.

Not a bad chapter, though I have to wonder how Kubo's going to maintain any dramatic tension with Ginjo getting double-teamed.

 

Soul Society arc. Best of the series, imo. Deicide's cool too, but it's just one hugely long slugfest with mostly silly opponents. You just can't take those Arrancar seriously.

Anyways, I'm seriously loving the new character looks. Especially Hitsugaya and Kuchiki Byakuya. It's gonna be fun, watching the rest of the curbstomp.

 

Okay, Byakuya there was completely badass. I see a complete and utter curbstomp coming and it will be epic to watch.

 

Quick question,even though its completely off topic, but why is Renji still a member of Byakuyas squad,I mean the guy defied his Captain during the SS arc, and if Byakuya was willing to kill his on sister for justice I don't see why Renji wasn't court martialed or something close to that.

Whats up with the little girl on kenpachi's shoulder, can she do anything other than call him Ken-chan(I think she is the only one who can do that)

 

How can you not know who Yachiru is... did you like, skip a few hundred chapters?



But to answer your question anyway, she's Kenpachi's adoptive daughter basically and acts as lieutenant. She lacks fight scenes as attacking her known to "make Ken-chan mad" and is thus a form of assisted suicide.

 

Did you somehow forgot that the whole execution thing was manipulated by Aizen in the first place? They had more important things to worry about.

 

Yeah it was manipulated by Aizen but at the end of the day Renji went against his Captain, going as far as fighting him.If this had happened with any other Captain I would not have questioned it, but the fact that Kubo showed us that Byakuya did not tolerate anyone who broke rules, it doesn't make sense that Renji didn't face any Disciplinary action or at the very least he should have been demoted.Or maybe it happened off panel?

 

Since Byakuya was bonding with his sister after his therapy session with Ichigo (which suspiciously resembled a beatdown), he might have been inclined towards leniency in Renji's case. Since, you know, he's been Rukia's friend since the Rukongai.

 

By your logic shouldn't the other 2 captains who rebelled also be arrested?

 

There's also the part where they just lost three captains and needed every fighter who had gained Bankai they could get. Plus, Renji did what Byakuya would have done if he weren't bound by his word--he tried to save his sister.

Go read the SS arc again. It really isn't such a surprise that nothing official came of Renji's 'rebellion'.

 

What If Ichigo just died and became a hollow, then proceeded to eat everyone else. Thats a chapter we can look forward to.

 

I'm really confused about shinigami dying. Aren't they technically already dead, if they are just souls?
For that matter, how can there be noble families in seireitei if souls are technically unrelated? Maybe it's explained later on...I'm on the Bount arc.

 

My understanding is that there souls of people whp died and forgot their past lives. However it appears as if the noble familes reproduce within soul society so that sort of throws a wrench into that.

 

Soul Society is entirely composed of spirit particles; the people, the plants, the air etc. When souls die they disperse into spirit particles and become a part of the world around them.

From how I understand it, being "born" in Soul Society is essentially a mass of spirit particles coming together to form a soul. Nobles families are considered noble because they produce souls which usually have a higher than normal amount of spirit energy allowing them to be shinigami (or something equivalent).

Not really sure if that helps, its kind of complicated. And don't expect canon information from anime filler (Bount arc, Amagai arc, Zanpakuto arc etc).

 

This. These spirit particles also mimic the vast majority of Earth's physics, so that's why they have human-shaped bodies, blood, can die from lethal wounds, etc.

This isn't really explained in the canon anywhere, since it's mostly irrelevant to shōnen anime with godlike powers clashing with giant magical swords.

 

Did Renji just imply that Aizen has already escaped?

 

I believe he did. Unless he's implying that he's been training to fight on par with someone of Aizen's level.

Also, I must admit to being slightly amused by how most of the Shinigame are just casually stomping the fullbringers and/or treating the fights like a huge joke.

 

Sounds like it was a poor choice of words-- he's been training to reach the same tier of power that was displayed in the Deicide chapters.

Double EDIT: The way Aizen's name is bolded seems to indicate that. "I've been training to fight AIZEN, so what did you think you could do?" kind of thing.
