I think Lineape tried to write one, but it was only okay, and he quickly abandoned it. I'd want to see one done.

Here is one of my ideas for a Harry Potter /The Stand crossover:

The Death Eater's are working on a secret project under Voldemort order's , the project is a deadly extremly contagious virus that Voldemort hope use as a weapon against the muggle world. But something goes horribly wrong, Snape gets accidently infected when trying to destroy the virus.

Unknowing of this he later returns to Hogwarts and spreads the virus to the students who are just about to go home for the summer. A new catastophe is now inflicted upon the world.

Yeah, I kinda dropped the ball on that one.

The further I went into the story, the less and less I could stand what I'd written in the beginning. For one, I didn't know shit about writing when I started (not that I know anything now), but more importantly I found writing an emotionless sociopath to be mind-numbingly dull.

I actually tried re-writing from the start (I got about half way), but 40,000 words is a lot to re-write, and I'm lazy.

By the time I abandoned it, the Harry in Darkly Dreaming Harry didn't even resemble Dexter. He was just an asshole, and not even a likeable asshole in my opinion. That, and the first year I had plotted out was just plain boring. Not enough conflict.

It's a shame I couldn't get passed that because fuck, if I had figured out how to make the first year not suck, I had some awesome ideas for second year and up.

Man, that was my first story I ever read in fanfiction. I command you to finish re-writing it. :D

My story was the very first FanFiction you ever read? My apologies, friend. I'm just glad that my constant butchering of the English language didn't turn you off from FanFiction altogether.

As for the re-write, well... eh. It's been what, nine, ten months since I've updated? I'd have to reacquaint myself with the story. I'd probably have to re-write it from the beginning again because, well, I've changed a great deal in the last nine months. That could take a while. Also, and this should not be overlooked, I'm lazy.

I could however give a Cliff Notes summary of what I intended to do with the story if anyone is interested.

I'd be interested in seeing that.

I'd obviously would too, if just to sate my longings for it. It'd be nice to read something a little nostalgic.

You know, it should be a rule somewhere that fics getting abandoned should have Cliff Notes summaries just to satisfy those who do like the stories and followed them.

It doesn't make it better. It just tells you what could've been and never will be. It's like giving a starving man a picture of a steak with mushroom sauce, baked potatoes, onion rings and an ice cold beer.:(

Be pretty kick-ass if in the room with the mirror at the end of first book Brian (or whatever name you wanna put) shows up.

It'll at least solve some mysteries.
    But, whatever.
It may also inspire some readers into writing a continuation.

Y'know, that's not necessarily a good thing. Continuations tend to be...

    Yes, yes they do.

It seems that people want to see what I intended to do with Darkly Dreaming Harry, so I'll write something up and post it. I guess this thread is as good of a place as any. I should have something ready soon, but given my track record in this respect, you probably shouldn't put much stock into what I have to say.

So I was just playing Oblivion (gotta get my thumbs back up to speed for Skyrim), and had a bunny pop in - Atronach Sign Harry. But expanded a bit.

He has NO magic of his own. But magic can't directly do anything to him - potions given to him don't even work at the level they would a muggle, he can't be transfigured, or cursed, or charmed, THIS is why the AK didn't kill him.

However, whenever a spell is cast at/on him, he 'absorbs' it. So at any point after Voldemort's AK in Godric's Hollow, he could cast an AK himself, if he knew the incantation, wandwork, and HAD a wand.

However, like the Dementors in TLIL, indirect spells can still effect him - transfiguring the floor into a cage, making walls explode and have the shards cut him etc...

The closest thing I remember seeing to this was a short ficlet where Harry is immune to the Unforgivables. And goes to Slytherin. And dies in the Forbidden Forest in first year (anyone know that fic?).

The most crack!XO story I think I've ever actually come up with...

Spartan White Team Chief designated Harry-980 of the ICWSC engages Insurrectionist Death Eaters on colony 4, planet Zi, using the MJOLNIR CVI(fifty-six) transforming mobile suit.

After breaking through the opposing forces and reaching the main base, however, Harry finds out that the Innies have somehow gained the schematics and technology to replicate the MJOLNIR CVI models, giving rise to Project Voldemort. Can Harry overcome a greatly enhanced mobile suit powered up by magic, or will he fall?

    Featuring Smart AI Hermione :awesome

ChedderTrek's latest post in Almost Recommendable got me thinking of a mostly humor series. The premise is Harry being mentored by various staff members not commonly used or seen in canon, like Filch, Pince, or former Care teacher Kettleburn.

I remember reading a story where Filch mentored Harry in some capacity, but I don't remember much else about it.

    Almost a Squib, perhaps?
Magical Relations, while not exactly a mentor-protege thing, has a Filch that is friendly to Harry.

The Pince, Binns, Hagrid, Kettleburn and Filch segments can be funny while say, the Quirrell segment would be semi-dark, like The Santi's magnificent story. And the Sinistra segment is set during fifth/sixth year with NSFW content, etc. etc.

Wasn't that the one where Harry was poor or acting poor or something and had to work for Filch to earn money? I think he was in Slytherin and stayed working for Filch even when he didn't have to.

    Magical Relation? Yes.
Although it's that he thought he was poor (in fact he convinced Vernon to loan him the money before finding out about the Potter vault). He continued working because it's some extra money, he kinda like Filch and it's good to have a friend in low places.
